FWIW I spoke with two players on Tuesday who said they like the jerseys. Pretty informal setting and no cameras, so I don't think they had much reason to lie.

I'd be surprised if any current players would say they didn't like the jerseys to any fans even if they actually felt that way.

Quite frankly I doubt the players care all that much about the design.

If they have any complaints about it it would be more about functionality than anything (like the moisture problems with the Edge 1.0's). If there are any, I can imagine it would center around the crew neck replacing the v-neck and the material not standing up to game use well.

Agreed, which is why I think they would just be like oh yea I like it. There's no reason for them to comment negatively about the look of it even if they aren't being filmed or talked to a reporter about it.

I'm still not thrilled with the design but I'm already used to them after three games. If these are what the jerseys always looked like, I don't think anyone would be saying that they're awful looking. Nothing great or special but they're really not that bad, at least when worn over equipment. It just seems worse since the prior design worked so well.

We should be happy that they at least got the collars right. The collars on Montreal's jersey look far worse than anything you can find on the Devils jersey. Are they wearing dress shirts under their jerseys or is that a toilet seat around their neck? It looks really awful imho.

Yeah, we do probably have one of the less bad collars among the new jerseys. And the shoulders don't bother me as much as they did initially. It's still clearly a pretty big downgrade, but they were nearly perfect before, so pretty much any change was going to be worse.

Outside of Colorado and Carolina I don't think any of the new jerseys are much better than the ones they had last year, so overall it's just been kind of a big dud by Adidas.

I thought the previous jerseys were a little too bland/non-descript, which is why I was excited for a few changes. Somehow they went the opposite way and made them even more bland.

I guess this speaks to how little this really matters, but I didn't even notice the Rag's changed their jerseys.

You can't tell so much during play, but when they focus in the collar looks weird with the glossy looking NHL shield and the fake laces. The Habs one is like the Hawks one and looks like a white neck pillow (or toilet seat) is attached to them.

The only way your voice is going to be 'heard' is economically. They aren't going to pay attention to a very vocal minority clique of fans if the jerseys sell a lot.

What jersey is $225? The authentic is $180ish.

I asked this on BoH so might as well here too. Reebok replicas ran $130 or so for a blank and around $170 for one with a player name. I thought Reebok authentics were in the $300-400 range. Did the price of authentics plummet and is there still an even cheaper replica version?

A couple posters on BoH seemed to think Adidas authentics are cheaper now and noted their teams are also included them with STH perks. Guess I'm wondering if the new "authentic" is sliding in to the old "replica's" spot because I'd be stunned if there was a price drop on anything NHL related.

Some will argue that the Adidas authentics basically on par or slightly better than the Reebok IndoEdge authentics, but for the Devils, the Adidas authentics are basically Reebok premiers. Fanatics now produces a replica jersey that is a step down from the Adidas authentics, but those are complete garbage. In the last couple of years, Reebok started producing authentics that were made in Canada, and those absolutely blow the Adidas authentics out of the water. I held the Reebok authentic next to the Adidas authentic, and it's the equivalent of an on-ice jersey and a long sleeve t-shirt.

Do the lack of stripes make the guys look taller out there? Mcleod looks huge, and Bratt taller then I expected.

shop.nhl.com has more of the red authentics in stock now. 10% off if you use promo code "ITPAYS" and pay with a Discover card.

I'm just not sure I want to buy one before checking the quality, given they are Indo...

1) Haven't thought about them at all while watching games
2) A minor identity change while the team is starting a new era is kind of cool

Its a Trap

Yes I’m still here to piss you off
Everytime a players back is to the camera my eyes are drawn to the emptiness below the numbers. I actually like the shoulder bar as I felt it always looked better on a player when it stopped basically right on top of the shoulder instead of swooping down onto the arm *shrug*
