They should go with Dawes next game but even with that the saves he made he still let in a few killer softies.

Fitz really has to be worried about the cap and that’s why he hasn’t pulled the trigger yet for a goalie. SMH if he doesn’t make a move and try to salvage the season this team is out in 5 in the playoffs. Probably get the game 4 win to avoid a sweep
If they don’t make a move for a goalie they aren’t making the playoffs. The schedule is going to pile up even more and they are going to need good goaltending games. They can’t lose every “we’re tired” game.

I'm not gonna make much of this game.

The team is literally missing all it's top core forward guys not named Nico and Bratt and mercer.

You got guys overachieving given the injuries.

I believe Palat or Meier will be back by the next game and probably the other within a few.

Let's see what the Jack situation brings us.

Bet a lot of money Vitek gets Tampa
Of course he will.

He was gonna get Thursday night's game even if we lost 3-1 and Daws didn't allow those last 2 goals.

He was gonna get Thursday night's game if we lost 3-2 in OT or a shootout, if I had to guess. MAYBE not then, but still probably.

Like I said, I'm not doing Tampa on Thursday. I don't particularly feel like driving into Tampa on a weeknight. My bestie who lives by me doesn't wanna go that night. And my buddies down in South-ish East Coast Florida don't wanna come up for this one. One of them's grandmother's 85th birthday is on that day. But I will be going to Sunrise next Saturday and meeting up with them. And I think they're gonna come up for the next game in Tampa later this month. We play them again in Tampa on the 27th, the last game before the all star break.

Either way, I'll go to that one by myself if I have to. It's on a Saturday night. But they'll probably come up for that one.

I think even without a goalie change they could sneak into the playoffs would be fitting to get the rangers in round 1 and they are the team to curb stomp us

He needs to make a move or we won't make the playoffs ... we have a full contingent of AHL goalies at best nothing more

Singling out Nico is a hell of a thing given all that happened in this game and the hit he took last night but ok. Also our record without him is flat out shit so I wouldn't hang much of our demise on him if it were me.
Lindy has basically tried to make him a pure checking center with little offensive help in the last few weeks. Tonight’s opening lines were a textbook example example of that.

I'm not surprised by all the injuries. When you're not in control of the game and are constantly scratching and clawing just to stay competitive, guys are gonna wind up getting hurt.

I even used a lot of Fitz'isms (Rome wasn't built in a day lol) and GM speak in that one.

That's probably how it's gonna go.

I think the only thing that I made up that probably won't be said is the ''Vitek was battling mental health issues all season, which will be corrected in the offseason''.

Even though I do believe that to be the case, I just don't think he'd actually say that.

Hopefully the correction is a cap dump on another team.

An underrated storyline this season has been how absolutely terrible Kevin Bahl has been. Sure he lays out a big hit every once in a while but he does next to nothing offensively and consistently gets walked defensively. -3 today and absolutely was sleepwalking on the Garland wrap-around. With Siegenthaler out considerable time now we really need someone to step up or a big trade to happen. At this point, I would love to call up Misyul and see what he can do.

I'm not sure you can say that when shitty efforts in the back of back to backs has been a consistent thing all season.
This was bad even by Devils standards shockingly.

And now Siegs is done for a while too, broken foot...the hits just keep on coming and we'll never see Smith at forward again.

Of course it's better to win in OT than lose LOL thanks. I'm talking about what this team does in regulation. 5v5 hockey. They have as many losses there as the Penguins, and the only team in the conference with more is a basement dweller.

Say what you want about the Islanders...they can at least get the games to OT, unlike this squad. I don't think the Isles are a good team, but I am saying that our team hasn't been good either.
The Penguins are a pretty good team and it’s fairly likely they’re in the playoffs.

Anyway, I don’t really care about these cherry picked stats with the conference so tight. We have a few more games that get to OT with literally just a few more saves. League worst goaltending vs top tier goaltending dragging a shite team to OTLs. That’s the difference.

Which Nico?

Ruff didn't single Hischier out. He said we were so close with Haula and Nico chance.. to tying it. Nothing negative about it at all. Just saying the boys battled back in the 3rd was still something.

Now I’ve asked it before but will ask it again

At what point does jack get the injury prone label
I think it's definitely getting stupid at this point.

I'm not sure how he could correct it.

Did he get injured either of his first two seasons? I don't think he missed too much time, but he had two long term injuries in 2021-2022. One at the beginning and one at the end.

He missed only 5 games last year, but two injuries already this year is not good.

But...... Maybe this one WON'T be that bad or for that long?

No goalie is saving us. Look at the rosters tonight. We will make or break from here on our ability to pull together mutually supporting and systematic team play. Under the current dispensation that has not been our strength.

And as to the hypothetical goalie deus-ex-machina, who exactly is this masked man who is going to ride in with the cavalry and rescue us, and what assets do we have to trade for him? Utica is stripped bare at this point and we’ve not got many draft picks left.

This team certainly has its issues and alot of it comes down to coaching and goaltending but you are being a big too harsh man. If Vancouver was missing Petersson , Boeser , and Hughes do you think they would of been as good as they were tonight ? It's a routine shot block...We didn't lose to some team like Columbus , Anaheim or San Jose ! We did that earlier in the season lol.
