anyways, they are all similar goalies. Saying one is "clearly better" than Vanecek is nonsense.

I was wrong on Skinner but Samsonov and Kochetkov are better than Vanecek. Schmid is much better in a smaller sample size.

Not worried whatsoever about the Rangers. We match up extremely well against them. We've also played the Bruins and Canes fine this year.

There's no reason to overly doubt this team with what they've shown this year. We'll see how it transpires on the ice but the team has enough talent and is playing well enough overall on a consistant basis to do some damage.

Edmonton is in a similar boat to us but Skinner is still clearly better than Vanecek.
Samsonov is miles better
Carolina is probably around the same.

The frustrating thing is Schmid is clearly better at stopping the puck and handling the puck but it's like noone cares. This is Grant Fuhr is a good goaltender syndrome all over again.

Special teams and poor defending lost that one. We also still had many chances to overcome it...Timo, Jack and Bratt all had multiple chances each to put that game away.

Hughes and Bratt were a major problem tonight. I don’t give a hoot for Hughes low angle, low percentage shots, and fancies - they got smoked. Killed in the nz and own end. Leafs played back and took away the rush offense.

Meier played better getting away from those two as well. Team has no common sense. More north and south. Go to the effing net. Dump the puck in and go get it when they’ve got 4 back standing on the blue line flat footed. Look at how they scored tonight. Lindy, maybe not matchup Hughes vs Mathews late in the third. This was a playoff type checking game. Seasons been fun but there’s definitely a pit in my stomach for when the games get tough. This ain’t it

Dude is shooting 3% in his last 9 games. That won't go on for long.

Do you think Schmid is overachieving a little bit at the NHL level? He’s not been quite as good in the AHL this year, but he hasn’t been bad either. I’m assuming .908% is around league average, but I’m not sure what the league average is in the AHL right now. I know it’s .905% in the NHL. Still, his AHL play looks far more promising than Blackwood’s ever did.

I think he’s somewhat overachieved and wouldn’t maintain this with a lot of games played, but he’s been a very pleasant surprise this season.

I know earlier on he had some breaks on post hits, but I’m feeling a bit more comfortable with him at the moment. He wasn’t great against Vegas, but it still was better than Vitek’s last two weeks worth of games.
