I think Bratt/Nico has been worse, even more so than Jack/Bratt. When Jack was out for a few games, neither of two were producing much of anything. That's when my criticism of Bratt reached an all time high.
If they do decide to move Bratt, I'm going to keep saying this: move Bratt to the third line and let him be the play driver of it. Nico/Mercer + Jack/Timo + Palat/Bratt is nicely balanced three lines. Roll all 3 of cut some time off the BMW line. But since Jack's line improved quite a bit today and our third line as-is was the only reason we were in this game, we're probably better off leaving everything alone for now.

Vanecek is what he is, a .905 to .908 goaltender. He isn't a 1A option in the NHL.

This would’ve been a hell of a lot worse if we were clawing for a playoff spot. With where we are it’s just mildly annoying. Already over it.

There was definitely a lot of good tonight. Nice to see some secondary scoring. We had a lot of chances.
You want to clean up some of the defensive stuff though. Overall over 65% xGF% again tonight. You win most of the games when you play like that.
Yeah it’s not even the loss I’m frustrated with. It’s how it happened that’s gonna linger for a while for me.

How many legit 1A goalies are there? A lot of the contending teams don't even have 1A goalies.
Carolina doesn't. Edmonton doesn't. Toronto doesn't.

Yeah in today's game, most teams are running out very average goalie options and it comes down to who gets hot at the right time.

I mean, I don't know if it's a valid excuse, but it's certainly an explanation for some stuff. Players will admit it's a real thing. Just have to regroup.
Definitely don’t disagree. It’s just IMO the root issue is the way they play no matter how much they control, they are ripe to give one up just as easily at any moment.
But Tatar Nico Mercer was below water across the board.
Of course that line is actually asked to take a defensive zone faceoff every once in awhile.
Palat Haula Boq needs to stay together for sure though.

The Nico line has been cooking for multiple games, I'm not sure I'd switch them out after 1 game.

Should be on a W2 before that massive game against the Hurricanes on Sunday with the Caps and Montreal on the schedule. 2 points lost in any fashion is brutal when having a lead, they were flirting with it for a while recently and it happened against a good Leafs team. Coyotes would’ve done it on Sunday if they had more skill.

Wish we weren’t trying to break him in on his off wing. Not where he played in San Jose. That’s an adjustment too.
But sure it’s going to take him some time. Plus it’s his second game back after injury.
Wasting a two goal night from Haula seems like a sin on par with pouring out a canteen of water in front of a man who just crossed the desert on foot.
Looks like he was anticipating the drop to the point for whatever reason
