I told you guys it would be unlikely we catch up to Carolina. It’s possible but it’s not at all something I’m expecting.

Hard to see it unless Carolina cools off a decent amount.

It's difficult to make up ground when the team ahead of you is as hot, if not hotter, then you are. Plus only one head to left so we have very little control over this.

We can win out and still not pass them

Not gonna blame Timo for this.

I am just worried 'cause this is now the 3rd game where Vitek has struggled.
this is the fifth game in a row he’s struggled, starting with the game where he soiled down the inside of his pants against the canadians in front of a sold out and absolutely bonkers prudential center.

The line wjth Haula Boquist and Palat is playing well. The line of Hischier Tatar and Mercer is playing well. You aren’t putting any of Jack Bratt or Meier on the fourth line. I’d say the forward lineup is fairly obvious right now.
I'm talking about the switching of Meier to the first line off Hughes wing. It seemed to me they were starting to figure each other out. Bratt and Hughes have always seemed to be in a way, too good for each other, if that makes any sense. Style wise they seem to clash a bit.

So when Ruff decided to shake up lines, I don't see why he didn't go with an old reliable of Bratt/Nico instead of Meier/Nico.

I'm still willing to give the lineup you laid out plenty of time to figure it out, this started from the change that happened mid game and why it happened, I think it was the wrong change if any change had to happen at all.

All I know is that an on-point Vitek wins these last two starts and we haven't gotten that.

If he doesn't show signs of turning it around, we'll need to turn to Akira.

Yes. Up 1 with under 6 minutes to go you can’t let guys go up the middle like that. Bahl was too wide on the play. I would be surprised to see Smith come in next game.

They played well, but they have to clean some of this stuff up. Allowing this and some of the bad turnovers (they got away with a few tonight) can kill you in the playoffs even if you play well overall.
I think it was more the failure of our forwards tonight in our zone than our defensemen based on where the Leafs were shooting unabated.

These guys are human . I’m sure they were all petty pumped to play at home with a packed houe full of fans excited to see Meier ‘s first game at home. They were a little more mistake prone than usual and nkt uncommon it was due to them wanting to show off a little for the home crowd.

I think its a mix of chemistry issues. New guy hasn't gelled yet plus they must be exhausted after a west coast trip
