Vitek will in all likelihood play 2 of the next 3 games.

If he can't figure it out and play some good games again like he was doing in January and the first few weeks of February and Schmid has a pretty good game, let him roll with it for a bit.

Really don't wanna see #29 unless it's for load management purposes. He has no future here. These are our goalies right now and hopefully will be next season and should be the just about the remainder of this season. #29 can play a game or two if need be, but it's more important to see what we have in Schmid. Vitek is signed for next season already and the year after.

I'm confident either Vitek will turn it on again or Schmid will help deliver.

I think Jack Hughes was scoring a goal a game for like a month and now he can’t score since the injury. Not sure it has anything at all to do with Bratt. There’s no actual reason to think one of the best playmaking wingers in the NHL is why Hughes can’t score. Sometimes players just can’t score for a few games.
Nobody is saying Bratt is the reason Hughes can't score. Bratt isn't scoring either. Both Bratt and Jack were scoring like crazy on separate lines. Why is it so out of this world to say to split them up?

Once again we had plenty of chances to take control of the game in the first. We really looked to be squeezing the sticks a little. Jack had a look three minutes in where all he had to do was lift the puck.

We’ve been coming from behind to tie games with the goalie pulled so often in the past month that it’s disguised some quite poor game management on our part. We almost did it again tonight. But that’s not the way you want to be playing. Sooner or later it catches up with you.

All goalies slump. It's really not something to try and over analyze

It doesn’t make sense to me because the Nico line has been incredible of late, as has the Palat line. And the Meier-Jack-Bratt line looked amazing in the 1st.

Nobody told me there'd be days like these...

The line wjth Haula Boquist and Palat is playing well. The line of Hischier Tatar and Mercer is playing well. You aren’t putting any of Jack Bratt or Meier on the fourth line. I’d say the forward lineup is fairly obvious right now.

Another thing I’ve noticed lately. Aside from Severson and Marino, the defense struggles with foot races to loose pucks. I do wonder if that’s an area Luke could actually help immediately. Although obviously that is only one small part of jumping right into the nhl.

Alright. Anger has worn off. I just hate losing to the Leafs, especially when their 2C and 3C are out.

People need to give Meier a break. His first home game and I’m sure it’s a shock to his system living in New Jersey, his new home. He is going to be a stud for us once he’s up to speed.

Thrilled with the emergence of our 3rd line. That’s a big occurrence heading down the stretch and knowing we can rely on them to chip in.

I'll never forget the treatment that Kovalchuk - the most skilled forward to ever put on a Devils uniform - received at one point. It's a shame that Timo had a rough game for his opener, especially after looking pretty good in the first period. But it's not unexpected. He made some bad plays, but he also looked a lot better in some other areas. I think by April most of the kinks will be worked out.
Meh

Who cares about that dickhead anymore?

I'm assuming you mean when the puck rolled off his stick in the shootout?

Can't blame them at the time. We just signed him to a 15 year contract (tried to sign him 17 years) and the puck rolls off his stick in the shootout like that, combined with that being our first losing season in literally over 2 decades at that point.

Tito is the last player to blame. First, it’s his second game back from injury AND second it’s second game with a new team. A much faster more skilled team. The timing of the penalty was not ideal, and we didn’t bail him out.
I’m not gonna kill the guy but he deserves a hell of a lot of blame for this L.
