Didn't take long for some of the doomers to turn on Meier. Shocking.

He had a bad game and a couple very visible, very costly mistakes, it happens.

Dude literally scored in his Devils debut, and he's going to score hundreds more in a Devils sweater. The good will more than outweigh the bad.

I'm not mad about this one, but go out and kick the shit out of Washington worse than we did last time and worse than they did to us the first time.

They looked like trash against LA last night.

When there's no middle ice option for the breakout, they seem to get caught.

Self-owns for the most part. Gotta clean it up and get after it in the next game.

But worried about Vitek. Almost feels like Schmid might be the guy soon.

I swear some think these guys are robots lol.

Getting adjusted to a new team/system/town/teammates/arena/travel/time-zone isn't easy. We all should've expected an adjustment period. It's normal.

It’s the save percentage that’s been horrible.
Some of that's on him

He STUNK out loud against Montreal. He was whatever against LA.

He almost LOST the game for us in Colorado. If he wasn't pulled then we were probably losing that one. Maybe even in regulation.

He didn't help matters last game and probably deserved an assist on was it the second Coyotes goal?

He might be playing his worst goalie of the season right now. His December was pretty bad and we were losing then and couldn't score. Right now the team is scoring and winning, but he's a step behind.

I thought much of it was sarcasm?

Then again this board can be a looney bin.

I agree, of course. But…no one should be immune from being called out for playing like crap. :)

Yeah, its a process. It was not a good game. There will be good ones. There were a few people who didn't play good games in this one.

I don't think anybody turned on him. He had the giveaway for a breakaway and was in the box for their game winning goal. So yeah...not good.

I'm sure he'll be fine, but our PP looks atrocious too. Hopefully the chemistry doesn't take long.

No. Toronto took over the 2nd when the lines were still intact. Devils regained their edge after the line shuffle.
regained their edge? the nico and jack line looked lost and confused while the third line held their weight.

It needs to be Schmid and not Blackwood

Vitek, Schmid or BUST.

Blackwood would probably be happening right now if he were healthy and able to play.

Hopefully if Schmid has a good start in his next one that they let Schmid happen, unless Vitek gets a start before that and turns it around.

Ruff will let us know what he thinks of Vitek tonight by who gets given the next game. I bet it's Vitek just because he used to play there, but Ruff is really showing his cards if Schmid plays that one. Because he was gonna play this weekend anyway, no matter what.

We all watched Bratt with Nico, and we all watched Hughes with literally everyone else... Advanced numbers and stats aside, what do you think?
I think Jack Hughes was scoring a goal a game for like a month and now he can’t score since the injury. Not sure it has anything at all to do with Bratt. There’s no actual reason to think one of the best playmaking wingers in the NHL is why Hughes can’t score. Sometimes players just can’t score for a few games.
