Behind a mediocre Comets team being at .908 isn’t bad. He certainly looks the part of an NHL goalie this season. Light years better than last season and he’s still not a finished product.

He's had some clunkers since coming back from injury but overall I don't even mind his game the last few, he also has a new linemate to account for and build chemistry leading up to the playoffs.

Yeah really, I get slagging him for some of his recent games but tonight seemed like a December game from the highlights. A breakaway goal by Marner, two open net tip ins and a prime slot chance to Mathews on a power play is on VV how?

This isn't a single game thing though. We see it constantly. The team goes down 1 goal and the sky is falling.
It's kind of annoying, especially considering what the team has done this year.

They were poor against Arizona but people also have to realize playing out the last quarter of the season just for seeding against teams that (mostly) either need the game more or have nothing to lose is challenging in its own right.

For good reason. Need to be worried about all the winning that’s going on behind the NJD right now. FLA is coming in white hot right now and beat VGK and Hill, who we couldn’t beat a few nights back. WSH will do the same thing if we don’t beat them. NYb and Pitts had huge wins tonight and we laid a big egg to the laffs on home ice. The Rags will be on our tail in a week. Book it. And that’s not even counting Rawly ahead of us with a big win over the same Habs team on the road that we lost to at home. Pitiful.

He's absolutely correct. Two passes across the front of the crease for easy scores, Marner breakaway because Hischier (who otherwise had some excellent back checks) and Meier played ole with the puck and Matthews being allowed to skate uncontested into the slot on a Toronto PP. Sure, it's on VV. Give me a break.
One other thing. I don't know if Jack is still hurting, but I do think he's a bit out of control with his puck handling lately and trying to force play where there isn't any.

Rangers fans were more pissed about the Penguins winning tonight than laughing at our collapse if it means anything. The Devils deserved something like this and I said it before, Arizona probably beats them Sunday if they had any talent besides Keller, Soderstrom, Crouse and Schmaltz on that roster.
You clearly haven’t looked at the standings. If NJ loses all of its remaining games they won’t get to 90 points and likely miss the playoffs at that point.

I guarantee if Schmid had played forty-one NHL games he’d have slumped by now, because just like VV he’s not used to that kind of workload - heck he was doing that before his first send down and it’s not like his Utica numbers are better than VV’s numbers here.
Like 90% of the time the goalie advanced stats seemingly meet the eye test but tonight is one of the 10% of the time I think they’re full of it, judging by a nearly negative two rating for VV
