Don't really get the whole "Learning to do" comment people make.

The Devils have been the best comeback team this season, They don't easily give up so it isn't like they are a mentally soft young team.
The only thing I could see happening in the inexperience area is maybe shooting their load. I wanted to be the road team for that reason.

The Rangers came out last year and outshot the Penguins like 11-0 in the first period and outhit them like 19-2. They couldn't skate until like game 3 after that.

Haula will be a big X factor for the Devils. He’s been red hot down the stretch after not being able to buy a goal.
Sounds very similar to how it went for us last season with him. Couldn't seem to buy a goal then had 10 goals in 17 games just prior to the playoffs. Hopefully he stays hot for you guys, glad the trade worked out well for both teams.

The Devils are built like Pittsburgh of yesteryear though which is why the their fans probably wanted to avoided us lol

Wish Zacha worked, my username is evidence that there's some Devils who still liked him and wanted him to work out but just wasn't meant to be here. Haula's slowly becoming one of my favorite Devils on this roster. Would love him back

One thing I can guarantee is that Trouba is going to be the face of some restaurants chickenwings advertisement.

"Hi I'm Trouba, the chicken is a noble and powerful animal. When I was younger I decided to copy their way of life, Thanks to this I am now the captain of your New York Rangers. You want to be like me? Be the chicken! EAT THE CHICKEN!"

This entire thing could've been said about the Rangers v Pens series last year, lol. Just find it funny that the Rangers fans in here are taking us more seriously than the netural observers but it's nothing new for NJD.

I'm not completely convinced that this Devils team is built for the playoffs. The playoffs are a completely different game. I want to see how this Devils core does when they don't have the time and space anymore from the regular season.

I'd say the only thing that Rangers have going for them is experience; it's so rare for teams to jump straight out of a rebuild in their first year of not totally sucking and immediately go on a deep playoff run.

OV, Crosby and MacKinnon all lost their first playoff series.

How is a team with worse centers and a worse defense better built than NJ?

Playoffs is the same game just with better teams.

Teams that are better in the regular season, on average, do better In the playoffs. It’s not complex math or anything.

Yes, very much.

The Devils have a low-key good defense corps that's built to play in this league.

The Rangers have assessed defensemen like it's 1970 since 1970.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it. We'll see some long shifts in the D zone featuring painful almost-but-not-quite clears as our forwards leave to zone for passes that don't arrive.

To win this the Rangers are gonna have to improve their play. Maybe they can do it - they have the motivation. It will be an interesting series. I'm looking forward to it.

The Rangers have it in them to play well but they don't see how they play as problematic.

I feel that the Devils have a better team but the Rangers goalie and power play as well as more playoff experience means I feel it could go either way.

I think the Devils are the team of the future, just not sure they are quite there just yet.

Highly offensive young teams tend to struggle come post season. How many heartbreaks did Tampa suffer before finally putting it together?

I feel like the M.O. of trying to be physical against NJ will backfire.

The times when the Rangers dominate play against NJ usually involve Fox, Zibanejad and a lot of failed breakouts from NJ defensemen. That takes smart pressure and tight gaps, not running around trying to level somebody.

This is not a good series for me, as I only seem to get myself infracted during the playoff threads. Must behave...

Regular season success doesn't always carry over to playoff success. Just look at Florida last year. If the top teams in the regular season always means more playoff success, then that would mean the Presidents trophy winners would and should be winning more stanley cups in the same year.

I honestly don't understand why Devils and Isles fans don't hate each other more than we do. Just because we both hate the Rangers doesn't mean we shouldn't hate each other.

They have played each other once in the playoffs….35 years ago. And there is more of a geographic separation between the two fan bases with the Islanders fan base being concentrated on Long Island, Devils in NJ and NYC between.
