Probably has to do with most Rangers fans wanting Carolina matchup wise for the first round + Devils and their fans looking similar to last year's Rangers in a sense. I'm sure the toxicity will flow in this thread at the puck drop of Game 1 lol

Tampa went to Game 7 of the Conference Final in their first playoff with Stamkos/Hedman.

Blackhawks also went to the WCF their first time in the playoffs with Kane, Toews, Keith etc.

Idk if the devils use Luke Hughes off the bat, but if so he looks anything like he did tonight, that is another weapon the devils can rely on to tilt the scales in their favor.

Vanacek has been very average for a long time this season. Igor has turned his game on in the 2nd half. There will be the biggest difference in the whole series.

If the chances go 50/50 this series, I think the Rangers win in 5. I picked them in 6, I think NJ will have two explosive games, Game 2 and Game 5. The other 4 will be close and the goalies make the difference.

I do not foresee Hughes and Hischier struggling, maybe some growing pains on handling a series, but someone like Mercer I can see having it rough. Miles Wood is a potential x factor with how he handles things. He can be a mess or deadly.

Miller has been struggling, but he was a monster for them in the playoffs last season. He's a better player this season. And I think this is a vintage Tarasenko series, 4 or 5 goals.

Probably a dumb question but was thinking about this after reading the NYC thread - would the Rangers stay in a hotel in Newark for the away games, and vice versa for the Devils? Or would they go home after each game and travel as a team to the away games day of?

Why would they stay in a hotel? It's like 20 minutes away.
