Ty bounce back and they like Bahl more along with adding a RD would push Okhotyuk to the 8th D

Ty can bounce back, but he wont be able to match Okhotyuk physical presence and i think Okho skill/confidence only going to rise next season. He looked very comfortable out there.

If Ty can regain form would be good for team. Not yet settled on Bahl but he was decent too at end. I kind of forgot for a brief moment.

Anyway back to the topic at hand.

Long Live Nemec!

Nemec is not a bad pick. At least he removes Walsh from NHL considerations. :thumbu:

Nemec himself thinks 2OA is too high for him

If we add a more shutdown RD and Ty bounces back then Ty is going to be in the lineup.

Yea, I posted that as a knee jerk pissed off reaction. Emotions get the best of us sometimes, especially since I try to be really passionate about the draft and trying to get the best players possible. It’s easy to shit on the guy who is taken over the players you really wanted when it’s not really warranted.

what are his strengths in your opinion?

The only thing that bothers me about this pick is that I wonder if the idea of taking Hischier over Makar was part of the decision making. Ie trying to make up for a previous “blunder”.
I don't really buy that because they aren't posters on HF having these debates daily. I do think maybe the one person who ostensibly was banging the table for Makar probably got more of a voice on this pick - so maybe from that perspective it had an impact, but I really don't think they 'regret' picking Nico Hischier the way some people here do.

I don’t regret picking Hischier. Hindsight is 20/20 and Nico is a fine player. Going off the board for Makar would’ve been downright shocking at the time.

Castron already has a great track record. Fitz was here 2 years so I'm not sure why you're shitting on him. Yzerman doesn't have a 100% success rate either. The only pick I think Fitz whiffed on is Stillman pick.
Great track record of what? Nico and both Hughes were pretty much chalk picks by the time of the draft. Bratt and Shara...okay, but McLeod and Stillman have been pretty bad whiffs to balance that out. Everything else is pretty much still a question mark at this point and it's not like his teams in Columbus were all that great either.

If Im understanding this correctly.. Nemec produced the most points ever by an 18yo Slovakian in their league this season?

That 6’1 is probably generous, he didn’t look taller than Emily Kaplan and I don’t think she’s 6’1

Don't judge it based on that. There was some weird shit going on. Even Savoie was way taller than her. I'm not sure why he (Nemec) was same height as her. I can tell you Nemec isn't shorter 5'9".

17 year old defenseman yes, not any 17 year old ever. He had the second highest 16 year old season ever only behind Gaborik.
