Sure, we can say his ceiling is that high. He could in theory reach that level given his skill set. Personally, though, I don’t think he will reach that level of play based on what I have seen from him, but that’s just me. I would love to be proven wrong in my assessment of the player. I don’t think his offense will be at a high enough level, nor his defense, to ever be considered a true top pairing defenseman.

If he can become AT LEAST a steady D-man, I'm fine with it. But the issue is we didn't draft him to be a steady D-man. damn...what a mess.

I mean Shane Wright is a great prospect but so is Nemec. We have Jack and Nico and Mercer and can easily grab a winger in FA. I know you always go BPA over need but are we really going to be upset about our defense pipeline now that we have Nemec in the fold? Stud defenseman are almost 100% homegrown, we have the opportunity to have 2 of them in Luke and Nemec, let’s just be excited about that.

Oh and just saw a video of Mo Seider reading angry tweets of Wings fans hating on that pick so maybe just wait it out huh
