We gave up the lead. Failed to increase it with a penalty shot. (Would have been 4-1)

Almost gave it up again in 3rd in last 45 seconds.

Blackwood was basically the 1A goalie before he got hurt. I bet Marty and mgmt still think he has #1 tools or he would be somewhere else. Blackwood's biggest problems have been injuries, which have taken him out of rhythm.

We mock the "Loser Point" but it may be the one thing that enables the Devils in keeping their heads above water, so to speak.

But they can't depend on that every game.

They need to get back to playing to WIN, not to lose.

I didn’t get the sense that they played not to lose. They carried the 3rd period. Shesterkin made some quality saves and he’s an elite keeper. I wouldn’t say we got goalied, but he was definitely the better goalie.

did daws have the same stats after 5 or 6 games or whatever it is? schmid is literally one of the best goalies in the league right now, and we should ride the hot hand. no brainer. he’s also older than daws, i think.

I believe he did have pretty good stats through his first 5-6 games (probably not quite as good though?) and even through 10-ish games or so (I'll have to check) but it was all downhill after that.

Hey, I'm ALL for keeping Schmid up until he gives us reasons (and not just one reason) not to. Everybody knows my position here.

Not at all to me. We played a great third period. Totally controlled the play and had our chances. Getting that point is huge. A year ago we lose that game in regulation. That 3d was the 3d of a mature playoff team.

We needed to finish more of our chances in that game. We had so many great looks. That to me was the name of the game.

It's 7 games. He's not going to keep up what he's doing.

Last year in 6 games he was an .833 goalie. I have no idea what Schmid is, but that's a pretty wide range for what he could be.
