The "oi, oi, oi" in TNT or some Pinhead "Gabba Gabba Hey!".
Personally, I really don't care. RRpt.2 was great in its day but I can do with out the "you suck". No offense taken just not necessary. You're still going to get the whistle and the Ranger chant 2-3 times a game, no?
I'm fine with them getting rid of the old goal song. The "Hey-You Suck" was frankly sophomoric and it was getting old. It's time for the organization to move on.
Franz Ferdinand-Take Me Out about a minute in would be my choice.

The fans that post here are a very very small minority of the fan base. There are 622 comments on Facebook, about 1000 Tweets - all for RRP2. And this is day one of this.
I've changed my tune. It's going to be fun on Saturday. I'm excited to see what will happen.
A Saturday of a Ranger game, at night, leaving an entire day of drinking to be had by many, factored in with a potentially win-less team and a new goal song which many are unhappy with - could provide for an interesting game to say the least
If you've got philisophical issues with the team management, arena, etc, beyond the song to the point you won't give the team money - fine. But that's not the way it's coming off - it comes off as the song changing pisses you off so much that it changed your allegiance. That's pretty shallow to most. And if the goal song outweighs everything else in the positive column... well either there was nothing there or the song means too much to you from where I'm standing.
Plus this tradition stuff is pretty weak considering the last time we won a cup with it - from the clips on youtube, the you suck chant wasn't even a part of the song so how you can associate 3 cups without the chant and none with it and it becomes "tradition"... I don't get it.
Vanderbeek was also the ******* who got this team into financial trouble, and who pushed hard for Kovalchuk- that turned out to be a fantastic move!
Vanderbeek's mistakes might haunt the Devils for years to come. Let's also not act like he never took away the song.
Nope. It says "hell yea". Inappropriate for anyone under the age of 21. Might get ofended.
Kovalchuk gave this team some sex appeal so to speak. It was a great signing. I blame Lou for thinking he's some kind of hockey god that doesn't have to follow the rules.
I'm assuming some tongue-in-cheek here but realistically it's not as profane/derogatory as shouting "you suck," i think it is a legitimate candidate as a compromise to the change.

Oh God not this again.
"You suck" is not a profane word for the 100000000th time.
I don't know whether to be relieved or annoyed I won't be there to witness the trainwreck in person.
I kinda hope it isn't a gong show cause my friend is trying to get his wife into hockey (and he's not the world's biggest hockey fan himself), and they'll be at the game in my seats. But I do feel a bit like 'boy, I want to be a fly on the wall for this' right now too.
Agreed. I could sympathize with them if they were trying just to discourage the use of the "Flyers swallow" chant, but the dilemma we've all found ourselves in is the PC police gone amok. The team has actually said they don't want to hurt opposing fans' feelings as a rationale for the song change.

fellas, i agree. you're making my point for me. the word "hell" is not going to hurt opposing fans feelings
Its going to be an absolute hoot. There are SO many things that can go wrong throughout that night, its hilarious. Another awful choice of a goal song that leads to the fans booing even more than last time IF we score, a Lundqvist shutout with Ranger fans celebrating in our building, another 3 goal lead blown, another shootout loss, the typical D-Zone clown show starring the usual suspects, "You Suck" chants still be heard audibly throughout the arena, people getting tossed for doing certain chants, the usual drunken fights, etc. The possibilities are really endless
When I'm there, I don't care about opposing fans feelings, and neither do the majority of the other 15,000 people wearing red and black.
The old regime weren't looking out for visiting fans. They actually went out of their way to make sure that Devils fans filled the building instead of Ranger fans. But I guess that's what happens when you get bought out by guys from Philly, and Comcast wasn't looking to sell them their arena or the Flyers.
