I think any Willie trade now will be based on extension. It might be a player and a prospect and if Willie extend there will be draft picks. Something like that. That doesn't matter. I was born in New York. I don't remember the place and I don't give a shit about it.
Do you think Nylander/Gross will provide assurances to Calgary that they'll negotiate an extension before the trade? I personally don't see it happening.

Bc the other team can give him more money if he is a mercenary. He's been here his entire career and is acting like a mercenary. What makes you think he's going to want to negotiate with another team?
Seriously OEL?So either Zadorov, Tanev, or Andersson
Wouldn’t shock me if Trev moves Gio back to Calgary for a final year before retirement. Makes some sense.

I definitely don't see much motivation from Nylanders agent to do a sign and trade. If they can't work something out with the Leafs it would be in his best interest to hit full free agency next summer to try and drive a bidding war with a larger cap
Why the heck do you want Laf?NYR Lafreniere for Willy as a basis of some kind of trade? Cap may not work for the Rangers but they are in a dog fight to win now as well and Jersey is big competition for them.
To continue the tradition of having three No.1 overall pick, lolWhy the heck do you want Laf?
He has never hit 40 pts...he was a 30 pt guyWhere did they post the lines? Also, it is crazy how he was a 40pt player before Matthews/Marner but he only was able to do it with them.
And risk being demoted to PP2 and lower productions on the 3rd line. Plus all the crap the TO media will throw at him twice a dayI definitely don't see much motivation from Nylanders agent to do a sign and trade. Pesce and Jarvis come in cheap this year.
Sign Pesce long term at 5.5 per year and Jarvis long term 4 per year.
Saves us cap and we get two good players.
I think Jarvis has the potential to really breakout.
Another trade idea could be Andersson and Dube for Willy if he agrees to extension with Flames.
Nylander + Liljegren for Pesce + Jarvis would be more than fine for me.
Even if you treat Pesce as a rental, you potentially have a long term top 6 guy in Jarvis even if he is a bit overrated by the nerds.
He has been in the league for 10 yrs and has never hit 40....so saying he has paced for 42 pts a season seems a little misdirection and you used it to make a point. And why just his last 252 games and not all 647? His last almost full season was in 2018 79gams and he had 26 pts. Clearly playing top line minutes with the stars had something to do with his best season ever, which you were disputing.Don’t be like that…
Paced 42.6 pts/game over his last 252 games played.
Shortened seasons weren’t his fault
I mean...you absolutely can pick and choose which players you ask to take team friendly deals lolWilly is rightfully not going to accept a number in the $8m range while we give Matthews $14m on a short-term deal. I would go up to $9.5m with him. You can't pick and choose which players you ask to take team friendly deals. Not to mention he already feels slighted by how much more Marner is making than him.
I wasnt responding to whether I wanted to keep jankrok or if he were useful...I ws replying to the statement that he was a 40 pt guy before ever playing more minutes with our top guys.he has paced for it, but never hit it, you're right.
Paced for it a more often than not recently. Appears health is the issue for him.
Just like Bertuzzi was a 30 point guy last year, wouldn't you rather another 30 point guy who plays in his own end? Or do GP matter here?

ok, what point? buddy said jarkrok was a 40 pt player even before playing with the big boys and before Toronto so I m not sure what you trying to say..?Bertuzzi was a 30 pt guy last year, that point stands the same way Jarnkrok was a 30 pt guy.
Lets say Pesce wants $7 million x 8 years. I think i would rather that then Nylander at $9.5 x 3 years. If Pesce only wanted $5.5, Carolina wouldn’t be considering moving him.
