You would think a guy like Domi would sign a cheap 1yr deal to play with AM and MM to set himself up for a bigger payday. I am shocked these guys aren't banging on our door. So what is the problem? is this team seen as a toxic mess?

Sometimes it can take a while, sometimes it takes a certain blend of personality etc.

We have seen teams take years (Washington) to find that formula.

Leafs dont seem too close, but you never know with the right pieces brought in. But its certainly more difficult in todays cap era when you have a salary structure like the Leafs.

If bob isn’t an unconscious .960sv for that 3 week stretch and say the leafs lose in a close 6/7 game series and see Florida go to the cup final as they did is this still the presumed narrative? Carolina got ran over by the same panthers in an equally startling fashion and they’re not having issues bringing in guys

Can't see a team trading for Willy if he's looking for $10M per year. Maybe he gets that in UFA if he has another 40/40 season. Trading major assets to pay him that much? I can't see it.

Your not wrong but come on even you have to admit after 7 yrs of the same its a little harder to be optimistic that this core will figure it out? If there was some growth and if we could see they were getting better it would be one thing but we have plateaued and are treading water at this point.

There was growth, they found a way to win when not at their best and beat a 3x conference champ and 2x cup winner. Then they ended up running into a goalie who was playing at like a .960 clip for the series before and after them along with their match up.
There’s work to be done for sure, and no one should be satisfied with the end result and change should be expected. Just the overall tone and outlook of some is a little much sometimes
