Good chance for some guys to take 1-2 year deals to increase their values before the cap jumps.
FA certainly looks more interesting now

Trade nylander and marner
Sign Kane, Bertuzzi, and Tarasenko

Nylander+Marner = $18 million
Kane = 5 years * $6 million
Tarasenko = 5 years * $8 million
Bertuzzi = 6 years * $5.5 million

Bertuzzi. Matthews. Taresenko
Knies. Tavares. Kane
Lol playing too much chel I see

Ryan Reaves is 100% getting signed by the Leafs. This is the 4th "insider" that says the Leafs are going after him.

It f***ing blows my mind Ryan Reaves is a priority and high on their list.

At least the salary is probably pretty low. More concerning is that there isn't a peep about anyone else. Lots of interesting names out there.

Growing trade market for one of Calgary’s goalies?

The Calgary Flames have a crowded crease heading into next season with Jacob Markstrom, Daniel Vladar and the emerging Dustin Wolf all under contract.
Markstrom has three years remaining on his deal and Wolf could be NHL-ready while entering the final year of his entry-level deal. Vladar, meanwhile, has two years left with an AAV of $2.2 million and Sportsnet’s Eric Francis said Friday during an appearance on Sportsnet 590: “I do think there’d be a big market for a guy with that cap hit, with that size, he’s six-foot-six, he’s a consummate pro, his teammates absolutely love him which is a crucial part of being a backup goalie.”

Vladar had a 14-6-5 record in 2022-23 and Francis speculated a team like Toronto, whose current GM used to run the ship in Calgary, could be one of the teams to give the Flames a call this off-season.

“I think the value’s high on a Dan Vladar if that’s the road the Flames decide to go whenever that is — whether it’s in the summer or the fall or if it’s at the trade deadline, I think that he’ll get back a pretty good return,” Francis added.

I personally don't love the idea of signign Reaves but if it's a buriable amount, I guess whatever.

If they do end up signing him though, you just know he's going to absolutely beat the living shit out of Arber Xhekaj in the season opener and this place is going to absolutely love him.

I wouldn’t care if it was Tre’s pet project to bring on some character goons or whatever if he got the actually big stuff done first.

Having it come out that him and Nylander aren’t close the day after the draft is absolute insanity. You either trade him at the draft or you better be sure you’re signing him, getting 2024 picks from teams that missed out on PLD or whoever is an abject failure.

Nylander not close but at least we have the inside track on Reaves, Holl, and Kerfoot lmao.

The team has no direction but at least an 13th forward might beat up a basement team’s 3rd pair D, plan the parade!!
