A team that needs centres badly buys out Duchene? Shortly after dumping Johansen. I don’t get it.

I don’t think they need centers. They are giving minutes to Novak, Tomasino, Glass, Parsinnen.

Bjorkstrand = Villardi
Iafallo is probably worse than Gourde but less $$
Kupari + 2nd = 1st or a 2nd alone.

I think Vilardi (at 23) worths a lot more than Bjorkstrand (at 28). I think Vilardi's value is more similar to Shane Wright

Duchene should absolutely be the top target now, he adds the speed off the rush element this team lacks and actually produces in the playoffs

I think that if you offer something good for any of their players they will likely look at it.

Or it's possible they want to "rebuild" with all 3 as part of the leadership core. I don't know. Trotz seems like a wild card and I think Treliving should take advantage of a GM that clearly wants to dump shit out and make his mark. You have to take advantage of that.

I would have taken advantage of Duchene at 4M.

I haven't seen how he was last year and haven't looked at it. I'd probably give them a call for McDonagh at 50% retained if possible.

Kinda surprised he didn't call around and see if any team wanted him at 40-50% retained. Wonder if he plans on using the retained slots for other trades.

Given that Duchene is bought out, trotz is probably willing to give away forsberg for nearly free given the past year's performance. maybe trotz is crazy enuf to accept forsberg+askarorv+1st for nylander (but only if trotz wants nylander)!

Duchene is gonna double dip and won’t be taking a big discount now. I can’t see him signing for anything less than 5 mil.

Duchene-Tavares could be a nasty duo.

Both can play C/W. Duchene has the speed to make up for Tavares. Maybe toss Jarnkrok on the RW there for some defensive prowess.

It's not even a contest that Duchene is a way better option than ROR.

The only problem is that Duchene will get a lot of offers. He's from Toronto and likely wants a shot at the cup, so we're a good option considering we do have cap space to give him a competitive contract.

The only thing with Duchene is there might be a locker room problem with him...he had that reputation in Colorado and Ottawa...has he matured?
