I don’t believe that they have the assets that they’d part with anyway. They would also have one heck of a time making the cap work.

As a basis, you are looking at Bouchard as the main return, and Kane as the cap offset. Probably a plus a pick… I’m not sure what.

I’d guess the Oilers would be very hesitant to move Bouchard though.

They have a lot of cheap contracts so paying veteran leadership big money for 1 year to get to cap floor isn't that bad. Good for all involved. Perry and Foligno get 1 last big payday before retirement most likely while Chicago gets some good leadership there for Bedard.
