If Detroit can't work something out with Debrincat, I wonder if they pivot to trying to trade for a signed Nylander. Detroit has obviously done well with Swedes in the past and has a lot of really nice pieces.

Zadina, Willander and 2024 conditional 1st

Because your not getting Raymond , hence why Willander and a 1st are included

Well, I wasn't expecting Raymond. But a 2nd drafted prospect + a conditional pick? That's so pathetic, I'd rather let the contract lapse and use Nylander as an own rental.

Not ready to throw Zadona in bust category, far too much talent. Put him with Matthews and kid will put up 25-30 and 65-70

He is still not worth that much. If he does work out here, it is because we make him work here. We can arguably say that about a number of guys here playing beside Matthews.

Right now, I wouldn't be surprised if he can't get more than a 2nd rounder in return.

Well there is lots of nice stuff in ottawa.. edmonton can f*** off.. and detroit has lota of things i like but for further down the road

Hmm

I'm not making that bet. I think it's better to aim for something tangible.

In your trade scenario, there is a decent possibility that we are left with nothing with the level of prospects coming back.

Ship his ass to Edmonton.

For next offseason, I wonder if there is the potential to move Tavares after July 1 for the purposes of a buy out. The cost for the team buying him out will be almost nothing as the Leafs will pay a bonus.

Could he then resign with the Leafs after a trade and buy out? I am aware that there is a 1 year waiting period for a normal buy out.

This is unrealistic.

Only reason to even consider anything with Tavares is if the leafs have a 2C lined up. They don't.

Seattle will be a team that will be all over Nylander if the Leafs put his name out there, I guarantee it.
