Whether or not he thinks he'll make the roster. It speaks a lot for his maturity and development to see if he agrees with his coach and the media.

Kadri is basically PP specialist. Reminds me of Kaberle, except not as good on the PP.

Think before you post, can first round draft picks play in the ahl? No. They're either put in the show or back in junior, which is really a mans game vs. a boys game that allows them to continue to develop there bodies and avoid injury due to being thrusted into a game that plays more physical then there bodies can handle. Did you see RNH when he was drafted? He should not have been allowed to play in the NHL no matter how skilled he was. And lastly, if you think there isn't a difference in physical play in the ahl and nhl you're just wrong.

I may be wrong but did'nt Edm have their 2 first rounders in the AHL?

Kadri apparently impressed carlyle in the faceoff circle, beating our veterans. Hopefully this puts rest to his faceoff abilities.

I found that very promising. One more step to becoming a center at the NHL level. Word is his core strength has improved which bodes well for faceoffs.

The AHL is such a scrub league. Get Kadri outta there and put him where he belongs.
Some of the biggest superstars are horrid defensively just look at Stamkos.
Not saying Kadri is anything like Stamkos (obviously) but come on, this is getting ridiculous

Here's the presser, Badger.

You point out to me where Carlyle says he has a poor attitude, or uses the word "lazy". Or even says that Naz "lets things get to his head"

I'll wait

It's odd. Going from Carlyle saying that Kadri obviously wasn't as effective in the 2nd and 3rd, as he was in the 1st where he scored a hat trick, to Kadri showing no effort, and having poor attitude is quite a stretch.

Indeed, sounded great man. Well that would make sense for sure, he just needs to stretch out his game for 60 minutes, which is not easy for any NHL player. The more he ca get it going in all period then great.

Watched the Carlyle interview. He certainly doesn't pump Kadri's tires much. Little bit of positive and then sort of vague insinuations that he isn't happy with the overall performance. That's my take. It's always so weird with Kadri in Toronto, there is always some knock on his game every time he does something impressive. Coach can't just say "he played good, he's coming along" or something like that. I pray that this is some tough love before actually keeping him on the team. Unfortunately this just seems like he's going out of his way to make excuses before the inevitable cut happens on Friday, just so everybody doesn't grill him. Oh well. Go leafs go.

Everyone says bad things about this kid and how the franchise has been so bad to him.

The thing is I think that's the new phiolosphy with the toronto maple leafs, just because your a high draft pick u still need to earn your keep. If you are not responsible in your own end then you need to learn, its nothing on naz its just this is professional hockey where you need to be aware of all 3 zones. He has to earn his spot and once he has that spot u know he won't give it up, he will work his ass off to keep that spot. With many players they are just given spots and you see a couple years down the road they aren't the same player.... Mostly becuase they didn't have to earn there spot they were just given it. Keeping players in the ahl is never a bad thing and only fans of other teams are saying he a bust. Imo this kid is a beauty softest hands u will see and he will be in the blue and white in the near future and it will be worth the wait

This! I just don't understand it. I'm glad I'm not kadri because he's gone through almost 4 years of it now.

In all honesty, it's a scrimmage. The kid scored a hat trick in the first period and played well. Tough to keep emotions and concentration high when you are up 4-1 and you showed what your capable of.

My two cents. He should be in the lineup on Saturday night. Anything less with Lombardi and Connoly in the lineup just screams that things are the same as was with Burke. Young players should be given the edge.
