I blame it on the education system. Something to do with reading skills and comprehension, or something like that.

If you had not read the original story, and a lot of very informative, logical posts in this thread, one would think the young lady had accused Katz of something.

She has not. There really is no hockey related story here.

Unless you really want to push it I guess. Then you could say:

NHL Team Owner not accused by young lady of anything.

If true he shouldn't be able to sell. The NHL should take over the team and put the franchise on auction. Why does some men have to be dumber than apes while it comes to sex. f***ing hell.

And we can keep this one out of it considering the alleged victim says Katz did nothing and the only people that are claiming Katz did …are in fact they he ones who are being sued by a large group of young women for sexually abusing and exploiting them when they were underage.

If people actually read the allegations instead of being driven by blind hate for everything related to the oilers this thread would have a couple comments, a different title and be locked. But it’s an oilers related thread on the mains so it’s a pile of trash.

Or, like, people have read the text messages introduced as exhibits and think it’s worth discussion. Not everything is a conspiracy, as indicated by the NHL saying today they are looking into it.

Doesn’t that make it obvious to you, like most others here, that the NHL isn’t going to jump to conclusions and instantly point fingers? Seems strange you would bring that up.

It’s strange to bring up the NHL is investigating it? Why? I was told it was a complete nothingburger and they wouldn’t, so sure seems relevant.
 
I’ll start this off with everyone is innocent till proven guilty. I can not stand the trial by public media that happens. So regardless of your opinion of Katz he should be innocent till proven guilty.

That said, I’ve seen personally with my own eyes exploitation and trafficking of people. In North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Nothing sickens me more than people that are flesh traders or pay for flesh that’s of children or pre adults. I hope suffer pain on a scale immeasurable to the rational mind. Consenting adult to consenting adult is one thing. But you involve a minor in human trafficking, child soldering, sex trafficking, or sex trade. You deserve a fate worse than death.

Now Regardless of my opinions of those type of people. Katz has not been found guilty of anything. And deserves the assumption of innocence till proven otherwise. But I hope the honest truth comes out regardless of what that truth is.

The NHL is doing the opposite of what you’re doing. You think it means something that they’re investigating brand new information instead of immediately dismissing it? Yeah, seems strange.

Also seems strange that the smoking gun that led you to such a quick conclusion was something introduced by the victim’s accused, with no other context.

The woman's lawyer also denies anything happened between Katz and the young woman:

Sigrid McCawley, Humphries' attorney, did not immediately return a message to Sportsnet on Thursday seeking comment. However, she told NBC News earlier on Thursday that "Sage had a business relationship with Mr. Katz and there was never any sexual relationship between them."

Don't think this will amount to anything. People probably need to read the actual article here to understand what's happening.

It means they found it substantive enough to take a look, which again I was told by certain people would never happen. It’s the correct thing to do, so why are you upset?

It literally didn’t matter what the news was. It could have come out that Katz was already convicted or acquitted - the response from the NHL would have been the same. It’s entirely a formality at this point. I don’t get why you would think it means anything.

They were submitted by the accused because they controlled the victims’ phones. Those are the people you’re choosing to believe without question.

Seems a little odd they wouldn’t submit context or messages with proof, but here we are.

That's the standard for criminal conviction. Even the civil courts rely on a balance of probability (51%) to make a judgement. We can therefore have our opinions based on the evidence before us, believe he did it, but recognize the burden of proof was not (or could not) be met in a criminal trial.

Case in point. OJ.
