I mean... maybe but I would suspect Necas could get more and the Canes would want more. He was a 12OA pick and he's been developed and progressed well. Still under team control.Offer Canes a pick in 12 range for Necas?
Canes getting a player who likely doesn’t play for 3 seasons doesn’t do us much good?Offer Canes a pick in 12 range for Necas?
6 million in caproom doesCanes getting a player who likely doesn’t play for 3 seasons doesn’t do us much good?
Thats great and all but we aren’t being forced to move him for a non beneficial return6 million in caproom does
If you mean from what they currently have available next year, Necas was only $3M.6 million in caproom does
Pardon my impertinence, but I love to put numbers on these colourful refusals.Barf. Not for all of the cheese curds and maple syrup in QC is that deal happening.
I think I was quite clear in my initial response. The Necas Nectar is not available for all the cheese curds and maple syrup in QC. I stand by that. Now if we bring smoked meat into the conversation I am reasonable man so I am willing to listen.Pardon my impertinence, but I love to put numbers on these colourful refusals.
From the OEC World website: https://oec.world/en/profile/bilateral-product/maple-sugar-and-maple-syrup/reporter/usa
"In 2022, United States imported $293M in Maple sugar and maple syrup, mainly from Canada ($293M), United Arab Emirates ($81.7k), Italy ($31.7k), United Kingdom ($30k), and Chinese Taipei ($29.6k)."
Note 1: UAE??? Italy???
Note 2: Quebec produces ~90% of Canadian maple syrup, so let's say $264M. That's a quarter of a NHL franchise's worth, in one year, not too shabby
Note 3: It seems the cheese exports from Canada to USA are only up to ~$75k (via trademap.org).

Smoked meat? Well, that certainly brings the Leafs' Core 4 into play doesn't itI think I was quite clear in my initial response. Ask for some bagels while you’re at it.I think I was quite clear in my initial response. The Necas Nectar is not available for all the cheese curds and maple syrup in QC. I stand by that. Now if we bring smoked meat into the conversation I am reasonable man so I am willing to listen.
Pass on the bagels. Unless they are fresh out of the oven MTL bagels are trash after about 20 min. You would think the QC hockey players would be a lot better since they can use those as hockey pucks year round. I will take the fluffier NYC/Toronto style bagels thank you.Ask for some bagels while you’re at it.
Rather keep CaufieldNecas vs Caufield ?
Necas vs Caufield ?
Well it’s Necas “VS” Caufield. So I imagine it’s some kind of cage fight. What would be the point of doing that?
Given Tulsky's past inquiries on Nils Hoglander—I imagine that Carolina would want him in the Vancouver package.Boeser and Mikheylev for Necas and Kotkaniemi.
Who adds?
Canes don’t consider.Boeser and Mikheylev for Necas and Kotkaniemi.

Canes don’t consider.
Boeser would get a stupid high extension because of one really high shooting year. Mikheyev does nothing for Carolina but make their cap issues worse.
The point of potentially moving Kotkaniemi would be to clear cap space, not take the same amount back. The fact that Mikheyev has 2yrs to Kotkaniemi’s 6 is irrelevant when the Kotkaniemi’s buyout is so cheap and would instantly clear $4M.The point is that Carolina gets to flog off Kotkaniemi's crappy 5 year salary for Mikheyev's crappy 2 year salary.
Boeser gives them a better scorer, with cost certainty next year, who plays a 200 ft game and is also a Right shot.
Adding Hoglander for the rights to Pesce would help both teams and reduce the cap burden Caroliina would have to undertake to resign him.
Hoglander scored as many goals as Necas did last year.

This is not interesting at all from Carolina’s standpoint. If we’re done with the KK experiment then he would be bought out cheap. We’re not going to pay to move him or take back another bad contract as this defeats the purpose of moving him to clear space in the first place.Boeser and Mikheylev for Necas and Kotkaniemi.
Who adds?
Boeser has transformed his game and plays in the top 6.buying out kk is better than taking on a bad contract with term.
Boeser hasn’t ever been known to play a 200 foot game. Getting a cost controlled asset for one season is a bad use of a RFA. Especially for an inflated value guy because he shot an unattainable number
Hogs is another guy guy with unsustainable numbers.
count me as highly skeptical that he transformed anything. More like he got lucky shooting. Defense metrics are still bad.Boeser has transformed his game and plays in the top 6.
Were Kotkaniemi and Necas both getting top 6 minutes??
Would Carolina ever allow themselves to do a buyout??
Wouldn't this impact their cap until 2035?
