@Chinatown88 they were thought to be the landing spot for DJ. I don’t know if this changes that though. As it also sounds like they have a pretty good shot at flipping 5* QB Dante Moore from Oregon.

I'm saying Oregon. I will keep pounding the table for Oregon. Chip would've been nice but I don't think he's a DJ guy.

DJ’s got predictions on the recruiting sites but that was before these developments. So it was thought of at least that he was going to go to UCLA at one point.

I’m speculating but I’d imagine with DJ in the fold they wouldn’t be able to sell a pathway to potentially start next year with Moore. Schlee gives you some insurance without completely realistically closing the door on who’s QB1 next year there.

He’s a Nebraska legacy. His uncle is on the staff there too.

The rumor is Frost got drunk & no showed when his family was there for a visit turning them off with the school under Frost.

He must have realized if he wants a single prayer of playing beyond college successfully, he needs to play anywhere else

Only makes him eligible for the waiver. So maybe.
It depends on the language of the bill. I've seen reports saying that the change simply said any Athlete who enrolled before 2021 would be 'grandfathered' into the previous agreement which was put into place in late 2019 (allowing a deferral or cancellation with a full payback of tuition costs).

But I don't think Song qualified for that 2019 rule because it wasn't put into place until after he had already graduated. So I'm not 100% sure this slight alteration by Congress allowing those who enrolled prior to 2021 would then change his opportunity. He enrolled before 2021 since he graduated in 2019... but he graduated before the change went into effect.
