The insider from 247's Ohio State site shot it down on the same basis above. Kirby's been one of the few coaches who have publicly called for changes to the system to avoid blank check recruitment. With that said, UGA had something like 90 players with an NIL deal last year, including some PWO's who didn't need a scholarship as a result.Who knows, every fan base claims they lose recruits because of NIL now. Not saying it can’t be true but it’s essentially a built excuse for explaining away why kids didn’t pick your favorite school.
There’s going to be an overcorrection on this stuff once we go a few cycles with it. There’s already rumors out there that those A&M kids from last cycle aren’t getting what they were told they could.
