They still got boned in that trade. None of the assets were any good besides the picks potentially. But they'll probably be late anyways if Luka continues to progress.

Do they really have nice pieces though? Besides Mitchell Robinson, the rest of their team is horrendous.

Yeah, you clearly don't know anything at this point. Mitch Robinson is their "only nice piece ". Gtfo with that. RJ Barrett was the #1 guy preseason, and only fell due to Zion and Morant passing him. Not from his play.

Knox is also very good for his age. Very raw player though. Trier had a great season and should have been drafted. Dude will be either a very good bench player or a decent starter.

Can see other young players joining in FA. Especially since they will be able to offer more money than most to them

Question:

-The Nets are by far the least popular team in the NYC area. The Devils and Isles do have their pockets, the Nets don't.

1) What does this signing do to the Nets popularity and relevance in NY compared to the other teams?
2) What does this do to basketball/NBA's popularity in NYC?

Traditionally, all things being equal, it goes:

-Yankees, Giants, Mets...gap...Jets/Knicks/Rangers...gap...Isles/Devils?Nets.
-Does this bump the Nets ahead of the Rangers?
-Will it for once at least give the Knicks a 'run for their money'? One of the few things I have envied about the Knicks is how compared to the Rangers, who have had to deal with the Isles winning 4 cups and the Devils winning 3, the Nets really have never been legit aside from a few Jason Kidd years, and thus there really has never been the faction locally that baseball/football.hockey do have. Does this change it much?

-If the Knicks had signed KD and Kyrie basketball/the NBA would be HUGE in NY, with the Nets doing it, is this a big deal and propel the NBA further up...OR is this whole impact much like Paul Pierce and KG, nothing really?

I meant currently on their roster, so I didn't include RJ Barrett. And relax, there are a lot of question marks with his game with how he meshed at Duke, so the jury is still out on him.

I stand by what I said. Knox was one of the worst NBA players last season as were most of the Knicks. Robinson is the only promising piece they have that played for them last year. Trier is dime a dozen and not a certainty to be a long term fit. Their coach doesn't know how to run an offense either.

People have to realize KP requested a trade because the Knicks are a joke. There won't be anything stopping RJ from doing the same if he progresses to that level of player as long as Dolan is around.

I would also add that Knox is pretty new to basketball. He started playing at 15. Was a football player prior.
