As a Knicks fan, no way in hell am I expecting that scenario to happen lol.

Also, KD isn't going to be the same player he was. I'd be very shocked if he comes back and plays as if he never missed a beat.

Totally with you as typically if it seems too good to be true when it comes to the Knicks....it is!.

That said and this is THE ONLY WAY I'd want to bring in an injured KD and that is in a scenario like this where a Leonard comes in and helps show the Knox's, Robinson's, RJ's, Althiers, Smith's, what it's like to win and play in an important games. No question, we'd be a playoff team and with the prospects of an even 85-90% KD next year, I think that's a gamble I'd be willing to take.

At very worst case scenario and KD was useless which I doubt heavily but let's just say he never gets even close to his old self, yeah it's a waste of money but at least we'd still have Khawai and a young improving team that would be attractive for other players to want to come too., Knicks also still have the unprotected Mavs pick coming upin 20121.

So tough call and I'd love for us to be in a position to do this but yeah I'd pull the trigger on this and sign Durant if Leonard came as well seeing if the basketball gods shined upon for first time in 40+ years(we are due you know), we definitiely could have a championship caliber club.

obviously I'd like nothing more than to see the Kawhi-KD team-up in NY, but there's just no way Kawhi goes from winning a championship to basically a lost year in the prime of his career while he waits a season for KD to come back.

At that point he should just opt for the 1+1 type deal KD has been signing with GSW the last few years and then join KD next season.

Not to mention how much Kawhi hates the media/attention. Which alone seems to basically eliminate NY as a destination for him.

As always, f*** Bondy.

It's either Knicks or they're not teaming up.

I believe Durant is set on Knicks. A lot of work has been done behind the scenes for months now. Business deals etc....Durant been sold his home in SF. He's not going to LA's second team to play in Lebron's shadow and the same building as him.

I think the Clippers are only being discussed cause LA is home for Kawhi.

Durant is doing the recruiting.

Unless Durant follows, this is a lateral move. Russell is about as good, if not better than Irving.

24 hours from now, could get some clarity

Durant to the Knicks may very well happen, I just don't/won't expect him to be the KD of old.

Count me in the camp that Irving isn't really that much better than Russell. Irving is older and more injury prone.

KD and Kawhi as Knicks would be wild, but it's not happening lol.

Russell ran inferno hot on some pretty crappy shot selection a lot of the time. Wouldn't want to pay market price for that.

Semi-inefficient ball hog chuckers are the easiest commodity to find in the league.

Lol in what way??

In the was at that Irving made his team worse. Wants to be the #1, but he isn't. Russell naturally became the #1 on the Nets. On top of that, he's produced similarly to Irving and is younger.

Not to mention, Russell to a max deal is cheaper than Kyrie to a max deal.

Unless he is bringing Durant, they'd have been better off with Russell and attempting to have him recruit a player or two, possibly someone like Randle.

I have a lot more faith in the consistency of LaMarcus Aldridge style long 2s than what I saw DAR do last year. JMO

edit: I just got meme'd on. Rather than delete the post, I'll leave my shame public. Well done.

I know Irving is one of the most controversial players and a flat-earther, but cmon look at the efficiency. He's a top 3 guy in his position, top 15-20 player in the league.

Kawhi is signing with the Lakers and the NBA is honestly stupid. My basketball hell living in LA continues...
