Amazing what playing with Rantanen, Makar, Landeskog, and MacKinnon on the powerplay will do for your stats.

Kadri isn't a line driver, although you can't discount that his presence on that PP is also beneficial for the Avs

Bottom line though, if a team like Nashville or Columbus sign him, he will once again be 35-45 point 20ish goal player that is still a liability in the playoffs.

He's going to get a lot more than 5 per, and whomever signs him is going to badly regret it within a year.

Dubas is that you?

No, it is me. Every UFA play in Kadri's physical range, age, and pts production gets a pretty bad contract when they hit UFA, and virtually every time the team regrets it quite quickly.

Every time Kadri has played with future hall of fame players he has scored at 60 point pace.

Fixed it for you.

I've watched plenty of Kadri centering 20 goal scorers like Nylander, Saad, Burakovsky, Marleau(27 goal year), Johnsson, Kapanan... and he couldn't consistently generate offense, and all of those guys produced at higher levels while away from Kadri.

He has regularly scored a HUGE percentage of his points on the PP playing with Matthews, Marner, Tavares, MacKinnon, Landeskog, Rantanen... This is an undeniable fact.

You make it sound like players like Saad, Nylander, Marleau and Burakovsky were all scrub fourth liners. Do you honestly think Kadri would score 60+ points on one of the teams in desperate need of a #1 center like Columbus or Nashville? If that is your prediction, you're likely going to be way off.

You think Rantanen and Marner are future hall of famers? He’s pacing for 90 with those guys not 60. He’s paced for 60 with Nylander, Brown, Lupul etc

And of course they’ve produced better without Kadri, they’re playing with Matthews and MacKinnon and Tavares.

Put him with Laine or Forsberg and there’s no doubt he at least comes close to 60

That is not what I said, but hey, go ahead and take things out of context to try to change the narrative, the facts don't change.

And while I never specifically said Marner or Rantanen are future hall of fame players, there is honestly a good chance they both could be if they stay healthy. Marner is only 24 this season and is coming up on 400 points already. Rantanen has 150 goals and is a point per game player and he only just turned 25.

While Marner and Kadri were on the Leafs together, Marner consistently produced points playing with Bozak, JVR, Nylander, Hyman, and Marleau. When Kadri played with those guys and Marner wasn't one of them, he paced for less than 30 points a season. His large amount of points playing on the top PP with the big guns has always padded his stats, the same way it has now in Colorado. When he isn't playing with a line driving player, he doesn't produce, PP or ES.

If you are using a lock-out shortened season 9 years ago to make an argument, there is a good chance that argument needs to be re-evaluated.

I do get where you are coming from, but to be fair, I posted my opinion, as this is a Hockey discussion board, and a poster responded by attacking my opinion and claiming I'd never watched the player play.

It's not like I am posting unsolicited replies quoting others and trying to refute their posts, I was merely responding to his posts that called me out.

To be fair to the poster Kadri is treated differently somehow and hardly given much credit.

Kadri is an outstanding complimentary player that produces well playing with allstars and without question elevates his game and makes them better.

But he is about to get #1 pivot money and has never proven that he can produce when playing with decent but not great players around him. He doesn't elevate average players, which is something 7+ million dollar centers need to do if they are going to justify their contracts.

He also plays a fairly dirty game and gets himself suspended at the worst possible times, really hurting his team.

This is why he is treated "differently"

It isn't 2011. The going rate for a 60 point player out of UFA is $7+.

I think he'll get in the 6-7 mil range on a longer deal because of his position. His 3/6 years of playoff suspensions is the main reason I think he'll be closer to 6, maybe. When you look into it, he should have been suspended against the Caps too after he had that dirty knee on knee hit on Ovechkin aswell.

He's having a break out season offensively, but he's almost 30 years old and no one expects that kind of production from him yearly.

He was around 45 points per 82 games once in his carrer. Not sure where did you even get 35 points from.
