I love players like this, they bring intensity to the game. Something the leafs often lack.

exactly I love his attitude and grit he's pesky out their and I always see him chirping and grinding out their, if he can bring that Marchand/kesler/subban type of style to the team that's nothing but a bonus for us... teams are starting to hate on him a lot more now and if he can get guys off their game that's nothing other then a positive. I remember the minny game their entire fan base wanted him dead and same with the Ottawa game! He just has to watch those hits from behind there not dirty but there reckless and he has to be more careful.

Wow, if you peruse the latest "which players do you hate" thread on the main board, Kadri is named very often by all kinds of fans :yo:

This is a good thing. I think we officially have our present and future high-end skilled pest and I couldn't be happier. A team needs one of these guys.

My favourite player just keeps getting more endearing

Fun fact: Nazem Kadri leads the Leafs forwards in hits. Yes, you read that correctly, he leads all of our forwards in hits.

The fact that he is the best puck possession player on the team and also leading in hits is nothing short of remarkable. Really didn't expect him to be so physical when he was drafted 5 years ago.

Of course, David Clarkson would likely be ahead if he had played as many games, and same with Orr if he played more games and got more ice time, but Clarkson is having an unlucky year while Orr playing more would only hinder this team, so there's that. Ashton could have also been a legitimate challenge if he was frequently in the line-up/got more minutes as well. But regardless, it's still very impressive on Kadri's part.

Kadri has been showing what he's made of all season long. OP left my very confused.

Wait! Are you people saying "he is carrying this team on his back!"?

He's been fine, but I beg to differ.

"Carry the team" is more like Bernier or Kessel. Not 0.76 PPG.

I'm just saying it would be great in Clarkson's return for Kadri to have a Geordie Howe hat trick sort of night to ease the worries of the fan base.

Why does Kadri need to carry the team? He's playing great, he's been excelling in his role the last month.

Hey guy, s I don't post often, more of a lurker :)

But after hearing this on ottawa radio I had to post it. According to Lee Versage on T$ N 1200. Kadri leads all Canadian players in points since the team was announced.:handclap:

LOL

Good Response to a spelling error. Hard to check everything when you are posting on a mobile phone.

edit:

Geordi FYI

Kadri only did enough last night, but did enough was not enough.

fun fact of the day: what canadian forward has the most points since team canada was announced? ill give u a hint... theres a reason why i posted in this thread ;)

Which means since February 7, I assume, John Tavares had a 5 point game on February 6 the eve of the announcement.

So I guess John Tavares is the hottest Canadian since the eve of the announcement of the Olympic team.

Kadri has picked it up since he solidified his place as our 2nd Center again, he and Clarkson who played great last game, should be lighting it up soon. Looking forward to seeing these 2 forming an excellent #2 line with Lupul.

:laugh: classic post Kadri has picked it up since he solidified his place as our 2nd Center again ** translation - Tyler Bozak is and always will be the 1st line center (but he's 28 years old and still mediocre - gulp).
Seriously man bury the axe. Bozak is better with Kessel - they will still on a line togeather for the forseeable future.
No need to start another trade Kadri campgain for fear that he will threaten Bozak.

Man if Kadri can put up 20 goals 60 points in a down year, I think that's pretty good!

Had Kadri not been wearing blue and white there would be a thread on the main board with a lot of league wide support to include him in team Canadas Olympic roster.

No... There wouldn't... Giroux didn't make the roster, there is no way Kadri should have...

EDIT - And I love Kadri

Do you really think that? I sure don't. Which of the Canadian players would Kadri have had even a snowball's chance in hell of beating out for a job? Pretty sure this is all fanboy wishful thinking. A kid who disappears for games at a time, falls down in a stiff wind and coughs up the puck when defencemen just glance at him has no business being in the same discussion, even in a fanboy fantasy. Come on. Congrats Kadri, you've managed to reach Benoit Hogue like offensive production, but lets not get crazy about it. The kid probably wouldn't be in the discussion for any of the top 5 teams in the Olympics were he another nationality, let alone Canada with it's sick depth up the middle. Seriously.:shakehead

Why do you think that?

Is he good at face-offs? No.

So based on being good offensively? Tied for 28th. in points for Canadian forwards.

I just think you are seeing it as a Leafs fan.

From Rico Fata to Benoit Hogue eh? I dare say the kid is winning you over.
