I agree it was a stupid move, but Jesus man, try to be a little less butt-hurt about it.

At least you've moved on from "he's a bust" to "he's not an elite player".

If we was only 1 goal up, then yes, bad move.

But up 2 with only 26 secs left, nothing bad about it.

At least you've moved on from "he's a bust" to "he's not an elite player".

If it was still a 4-3 game at that moment, and he missed the net...OUCH. But alas, it wasn't and he hit the net. He should have at least gotten to centre ice before shooting, but I'm sure the coach had a word with him on that one.

He's also damn lucky Devorksi didn't see the hit. Had the ref seen it, no way he doesn't get a boarding penalty and no goal. But again, no call, Lupes buries it, all's well. But having said that, Mr Kadri better learn how to fight soon. If he's going to continue hitting that way, he surely can expect the other team to respond.

Apparently you forgot about the Leafs blowing a huge lead late in the 3rd period against the Bruins last year in the playoffs. Google it dude. Pretty sure if Kadri misses the net there's an icing call and a faceoff in the Toronto end, and it's not like Nazem is some kind of faceoff wizard, pretty sure he would have lost it. It worked out for him sure when it went in, but firing it at the open net from deep in your own zone is a selfish and unneeded risk, the play is to chip it down the ice. Little Naz needed his points though so he and all his deluded fanboys can keep up the masquerade that he is some sort of elite player.

This is the funniest biggest joke of a post i've ever read.:facepalm: .... Trying to corelate last years playoffs to Kadri shooting on an empty net yesterday up by 2 goals with less than a minute in the game is a little ridiculous. There was no risk involved there. At that point Ottawa was more demoralized than you, when you finally realize how weak and pathetic your argument is.

If Kadri was on the ice instead of Grabo at the end of game 7, the Leafs would have gone on to round 2.

:shakehead

Bozak is legit... but Kadri is still the higher end talent. No need to snub Bozak cause he's not in the League of franchise centers in this league that there's only a handful of them.

A 1-2 punch of Bozak, Kadri is sufficient enough once Kadri matures. Kessel is the elite talent on 1 line with Bozak as his center and Kadri will be the elite talent on the 2nd line.

Too much stock put into where the elite players on your team should be mandated as a 1st line center. What you require is 2 elite players on 2 different lines so your not a 1 line offensive team rather it be on the wing or down the middle makes no difference cause teams win hockey games not individual players.

The fact is, as long as JVR and Kessel are on this team. Bozak will be the #1C on this team.

People should be less concerned about this, since Kadri will flourish with the checking attention on the #1 line, and he will be able to pile on points while playing in the shadow of less checking.

We have waited for a 2nd line to appear all year, and now that Lupul has stepped it up, and with Clarkson on the verge of coming back. It is just around the corner.

Maybe we will finally envision what we were going to have when we went into this season

Kessel-Bozak-JVr
Clarkson-Kadri-Lupul
Kulemin-Bolland-Raymond
Orr-Mcclement-Mclaren

Not a bad line up to go to war with.

In Chicago, arguably the best team in the league, they don't play their #1C and #1W on the same line.

this is not a big deal.

Scoring distribution!

And once Bolland and Clarkson are back; most likely with Raymond. We'll have 3 dangerous lines to contend with!

We can play it any way the other team dictates. Speed or Rough game.

This is what Nonis wanted this year, and the moves he has made has secured this.

All we need is to replace Franson with someone more reliable. I can only take one of Franson or Gardiner on this team with the mistakes these 2 make.

>>>...It's common when a team has a 2 goal lead "that late" in a game to take a shot at the open net. With a one goal lead it's a totally different story...Everyone that's ever watched hockey for any reasonable amount of time knows this.

I'm still concerned about that 4th line some as well. McClement has been playing better, but I just don't see the need for both Orr & McLaren at the same time. A little scoring from time to time would come in handy.

4th line is not going to play more than 5 mins a game, no need to worry about them.

If we need to play a 4th line 10 mins a game, it just takes mins away from our best players.

The biggest myth on here is icing 4 lines and rolling them.

Why would anyone want to take ice time away from our best players is beyond me?

They serve a role, last night they did their jobs. They provide a comfort zone for our skill players to play and not worry about their backs being cheap shotted. Don't most think Kessel and kadri play an inch taller having Orr or Mclaren have their backs?

Did you not see the opening shift? The 4th line was hemmed in their zone and Colton idiot Orr couldn't get the puck out because he was playing his off wing trying to start a fight. Luckily they played another minute after that ridiculous shift and sat their damn bums on the bench.

A 4th line should be designed to handle atleast 10minutes of game time and be able to grind the opponents down, when its 4-2 I'd rather send out the grinders to finish the game rather than my 2 scoring lines.

And no I dont think Kessel and Kadri played an inch taller with Orr/Mclaren on their backs, Kadri was getting punched by Smith repeatedly after his borderline hit, where was Mclaren and Orr?

The 4th line did not start the game, Orr was put on there to counter Neil. Wish you were more accurate.

BTW, did You forget how Kessel played in Boston before Carlyle became our coach? You also forget Kadri called Orr and Mclaren "his boys".

I saw what I needed to see, our 4th line outmatched by their 4th line and Mclaren getting his ass handed to him

What about Kessel, the 1 time he tripped Chara or blocked a point shot by accident? He's still the same player, a cookie has had more of an influence on him than Randy.

Kadri was dragged on national TV immidietly after the game; we all know he's a very well spoken individual, I wouldn't be surprised if he called Orr and Mclaren his blood brothers.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines were asleep the entire 1st period. Are you sure you are not singling out players you dislike? How about them?

Not a bad line up to go to war with.

Last night RC had no other players to insert, hence Orr/McLaren. Pretty sure Carlyle got the message loud and clear from Nonis a couple of weeks ago that RC better fix up his lineups or he'd be looking for a new job. That's why we saw Holland go in as the 3C and Lupul back to LW. I'm still stunned at how lately RC goes on about maybe Lupul plays better on the left side. Ya think Randy?

Exactly why teams need to roll 4 lines. Interesting that last night Ottawa's 3rd line nearly single handedly beat us (until the Phil stepped up) because we had only 3 of 6 guys truly ready to play bottom 6 minutes.

I doubt Leafs missed Ashton's 2 mins last night. Really, this is majoring in minor things.

Apparently Kadri has peaked as niche player at the age of 23. Just like how Kessel and Seguin peaked and were traded or when JVR was dumped for Schenn or Turris traded for spare parts.

The same morons limiting Kadri's upside are the very same people calling into Leafs Talk a few years ago ripping Kessel. Calling him "one dimensional", "soft", ripping Burke for the trade and wanting him shipped out. It's amazing how these same people never learn and how reactionary sports fans are in general.

I think you are forgetting that game against the Bruins Game 7. Kadri had a goal, an assist and was +2, i.e. he was on for no goals against.
Selective memory.
I can imagine you cringing at his play that night.
