There is always a stupid last second ridiculous shot by another nba team a season hopefully this was the last. Did not like the defense in this game only reason it was clost.
 
Why is this team not markedly better when their $50M super max player is playing? There are very few guys in this league deserving of a super max contract and Beal isn’t anywhere close to it. At best, he’s a… top 20 player in the league? Probably more like top 30?

Didn’t score a hoop in the 2nd or 3rd if I heard the announcer right. I only turned it on in the 1st and 4th. gotta have more out of a guy on that deal.

The in-game reporter asked Porzingis a very loaded question, something like “were you surprised you were able to be so effective even WITH Beal IN”…….he’s like “even with, we‘re better WITH him”…….ballsy question in the heat of the moment but Porzingis was all over that response.

He was really emotional after the game and you could tell he’d been crying when they were doing the postgame interview. This win meant a lot to him. Their last three games have been really encouraging. They’re not back yet but they’re starting to look like Navy football again.

The defense is terrific… I really hope they can keep Brian Newburry as the coordinator. If this is it for Ken then I’d be ok with BN getting the HC gig and finding a younger option disciple to take over the offense. I do hope though that Ken comes back to try and finish the turnaround. Only 20/60 of the seniors from the class of 2022 made it through. They have just been crushed by attrition due to Covid but it looks like they’re through the worst of it.

That opening week Delaware loss hurts more now than it did then. They’d be 5-6 heading into Army with a chance to become bowl eligible if they beat Army had they won that game. Oh well, all will be well in the world if they beat Army again in a few weeks.

In other Navy news, former Navy lacrosse and football player Johnny Hodges is starting at OLB for undefeated TCU. Hard to overstate how much talent drained out of Annapolis because of Covid.
