Had tickets to the Lakers game but missed out because I'm sick with the flu. Lakers blowing the Wiz out anyway.

Embarrassing how they cater and hatch their wagon to this guy.

“There were no other teams (in the market). There was no where else for me to go where I could win.” Real solid from Beal. They’ll continue to be mediocre at best for the duration of his contract.

Well this relationship is about to head south

Chase Dollander, RHP, Tennessee

Not only is Dollander the cream of the crop in terms of college pitching this spring, he’s a metric-darling with unicorn traits that can be extremely tough to find. He checks a lot of boxes. Projection, production, performance and unique data. Dollander has a shot at becoming a frontline starter at the next level with an upper-90s fastball and a plus to double-plus slider. He mixes in an above average changeup that has been un-hittable for lefty bats. If he can repeat his 2022 in the SEC next season, he’s got 1.1 upside. He screams Washington Nationals too. There is a rich history of big conference, big performer starting pitchers going to Washington in the first round.

Per the new baseball CBA, the best they can pick next year, regardless of their record, will be 10th.

What kind of heinous f***ery is that?
Can you give a a source? That’s insane we didn’t even win the lottery.

Washington post-

With the new CBA limiting how high teams can pick in the draft, the Nationals will not be able to pick higher than 10th in 2024, an MLB official said. Last season, the Nationals drafted high school outfielder Elijah Green with the No. 5 pick. Now, they’ll look to hit on the No. 2 pick next year before adding more talent in the later rounds.

well now in this context I'm unclear if higher or lower is what we want :D

Booo wizards….

The Washington Nationals selected Thad Ward, a right-hander out of the Boston Red Sox's Triple-A affiliate, with the No. 1 overall pick Wednesday in the Rule 5 draft. But the most intriguing pick was the 11th, which saw the Philadelphia Phillies snag Noah Song, a once-promising starting pitcher who has spent the past three years in active military service.

Song, 25, was originally a fourth-round draft pick by the Red Sox in 2019, when current Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski was in charge. Song had graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he mostly dominated, then went to aviation school after only seven professional starts.

awesome….and Shooter is actually in PGA Tour 2k23.

Which brings us to the latest piece of Shooter lore. This story comes via a Reddit user, who reported that two of his friends spotted McDonald at the Los Angeles International Airport. When they approached him, McDonald said something along the lines of, “That was 15 years ago. Grow the hell up.”

It was actually 26 years ago, but we digress.

The Shooter fans were put off, but then came this delicious twist. As the Reddit user described the scene: “Almost immediately after that, Shooter turned around and said, ‘choke on that baby!’ Took out the air pistols and said ‘Shooter!’ And turned around and walked away. It’s one of the greatest stories I’ve ever heard.”

And verified by McGavin/McDonald himself.

Watched the entire game the Clippers threes was not the problem the ridiculous turnovers on the other hand is what I would point at.
