Let's check in on things with the American players and see how they're...oh my.

Koepka and Homa should have led off on Sunday…..they and a few others have the heart, but we are too soft overall IMO.

Letting go Dillon and Gingrich, as well as two coaches at affiliates, signals a desire to improve Washington’s hitting staff as a handful of young prospects inches closer to the majors. A shift in hitting philosophy with a new staff could prove beneficial, though it’s also risky.

A review of high Class A and Class AA numbers shows that change might have been warranted. Wilmington and Harrisburg ranked last in their respective leagues in home runs, RBI and slugging percentage.

This season, the Class AA Harrisburg Senators had two players acquired in the Juan Soto trade (James Wood and Robert Hassell III), three of the Nationals’ 2023 draft picks (No. 2 pick Dylan Crews, second-round pick Yohandy Morales and Andrew Pinckney, who went in the fourth round), 2021 first-round pick Brady House and 2022 third-round pick Trey Lipscomb, whose performance stood out. But some of the team’s top prospects at that level struggled with strikeouts. Wood struck out 124 times in 368 plate appearances with Harrisburg. Hassell, known for his contact skills, struck out 152 times in 476 plate appearances. House struck out 42 times in 148 plate appearances.

Would be hilarious if he came back to DC as a free agent but I think he’ll be a Met.
Please offer him again. Fans might come back I know we havent spent a dime since our last offer on him.

And let me add how much I hate watching the Phillies keep winning in the playoffs with our drafted players we didnt want to pay :(

My guess was probably the season that Soto hits free agency would be one the Nationals could go for a big bat. Ohtani is really the only one I see this off season and yeah the Nationals will not go for that. Another season of maturation by the big bats and pitching prospects to hopefully get closer to the big club.

I was livid when this happened. The steal call didn't make any sense. No way in hell was that a legit steal situation. Turns out it was an accident. JFC

Yeah. Was bad took all the momentum away. Hicks was angling for a walk (3/1 count). Pressure was all on the pitcher.

Then POOF, it wasn’t.

Baseball playoffs are even more random than NHL playoffs. Stinks for Os fans but that's the way the cookie crumbles

I’m going to be mad for a day. At the Orioles end of the season.

And then I will happy in how far they’ve come, and what the future entails. They could become a juggernaut (Braves and Astros) and won at least one series (or 2) over the next 6-7yrs, if they aren’t stupid about it.

Their starting SP issues were exposed. Especially the last 2 games. But it’s all very “new”, so I’m happy and I await the coming years.

In Elias I trust

Bad starting pitching, lack of explosive bats(batters were impatient not trying to work pitching counts) and a big show of lack of playoff experience did them in. They need to spend some good money on an Ace pitcher, promote Holiday/Kjerstad to be regulars, restructure their starters(either 5 or 6 man rotation(choices are Bradish, Rodriguez, Means, Kremer, Gibson, Wells, Hall(they drafted him as being a SP), figure out who will be their closer with Bautista out(not sure Cano can handle it for full season) for 2024 with Tommy John Surgery, and put some good money on a .300+ hitter(if available to sign) that gets on base a good deal. Even pickup a couple guys with playoff experience to teach this roster how to play in the playoffs. Coming from behind doesn't work in the playoffs. Hopefully they learn a lot from this bad playoff experience for the 1st time for a lot of this roster.

Rangers deserved the sweep as the O's only lead for 1 inning(Game 2 bottom of the 1st) out of 27 innings! In that same Game 2 their pitchers gave up 11 walks(atrocious)!

(Grew up being a O's Fan as a kid, so sorry Nats).

Bradish is a keeper(he had the 4th best ERA in the Majors), Rodriguez is only gonna get better(he's age 23), Means looked to be back(impressive I think for what he did coming back from Tommy John surgery), Wells looked good coming back up, Kremer/Gibson were too much night and day, Hall was drafted as SP but maybe he's better for another year as mid relief that can give 2 or 3 innings in a game, but I would like a big spend on a possible ace pitcher(If Padres Snell is available then pay him!) who has some playoff experience on their resume. Holiday/Kjerstad should stay up in the big leagues for next season, also spend/add .300+ hitter who gets on base a lot. O's batters were just so bad with men on base and not patient try to work pitching counts when behind in the count vs pitchers. They need to have their pitchers improve being up on 0-2 counts and getting that 3rd out in an inning.

Nah, it not about random as it's about having clutch big money players take you to the next level and working well with the rest of your roster!

Love to see them spend some money like the Phila have. Harper, Wheeler types

I remember Peter Angelos would spend on big contracts and the payoff was bad. O's got the right person Elias to build the team as the team is more closer back to playing the Earl Weaver's Orioles Way. But now Angelos needs to spend big again, but this time smartly with Elias guidance. What their missing is a few big money playoff clutch impact players.

The O's future is looking great. But buying ace pitchers almost never works. You have to develop your own. The Rangers who just blew out the O's bought Max and he didnt even play.
