The problem is it's not just about the money with these guys (re: Phil and Norman)

Come on. Those guys aren't the splitters with a grudge against the tour. Phil and Norman are already filthy stinking rich. They're f***ing with the PGA tour for personal reasons.

It’s all personal at this point…Monahan made this a war….

Wow that Rangers / Astros Game 5 was an absolute classic. Houston snatching victory from the jaws of defeat with a 3 run homer in the 9th to win it 5-4.

If you’re inclined to the view that LIV golf is a crass vaudeville spectacle and the guy that owns Doral (who shall not be named) is a heinous clown - well then your priors will be amused and reinforced by this piece

DP Tour now the PGA “minor leagues” in Europe….

Beginning with the 2024 season, full membership on the DP World Tour is available to players who finish in positions 126th to 200th in the 2023 FedEx Cup Fall points list.

The top 10 players on the DP World Tour’s 2023 Race to Dubai rankings—not otherwise exempt—will earn PGA Tour cards for the 2024 season.

So, the best of the DP World Tour will head to the PGA Tour, meaning it will be deprived of its top talent.

"Deprived of its talent" but likely thrown a financial lifeline by the PGA tour

Considering the DP Tour only profits on Ryder Cup years in Europe, financing is clearly the main driver, and I’m sure we’ll see creative revenue streams helping out the DP.

A reasonable promotion and relegation scheme IMO…

The writing has been on the wall for the DP World Tour for some time. Important to note that there will be only 5 players allowed through this exemption per week - I was almost ready to crown the Euro Tour as the Korn Ferry Tour 2.0, but I guess we'll have to wait a few more years for that.

It’s really going to be interesting….

you suck out these guys, and that’s a huge talent vacuum for the DP, now filled by relegated PGA guys, and I bet the overflow PGA guys will just Monday qualify or otherwise get sponsors exemptions to add more PGA guys to those DP fields.
