They helped fund a lot of piddly little parlays in the future, as DK was kind enough to again hand me an NBA $5 free bet, which I used on a 6 leg parlay that paid out $235.

Thinking on that game was "there will be no defense at all". lol

I’m actually the opposite. This is the best I’ve felt about the Wiz in years. The Wiz are going to be terrible this year which is great… they’re not going to be mediocre. They are going to be a lottery team with a good chance at drafting first overall.

They’re not stuck in no man’s land any more. The new brain trust is stripping the house down to the studs and doing a proper rebuild which is something this team has needed for years.

Here's one for you. Ever hear of a golf course aerifying the fairways DURING a tournament?

That's what happened at the MD Sr. Open this year. We had to play 17 holes on the 2nd day because #8 at Lake Presidential had a full crew aerifying it.

Half the other fairways were punched the week before, and the greens a bit before that so they weren't putting worth a shit on Day 1 (they rolled them finally before rd 2 so they were less wobbly).

Also clear nobody was doing shit to maintain the bunkers, some of which should've been GUR. On Day 2 we were finally allowed to lift/place in bunkers because of it.

MSGA will never go back there, I assume.

This NBA draft for 2024 is NOT good so no real incentive for tanking.

Shitty on day 1 owing mostly to like 5 3-jacks on those greens and some bad lies (and a guy in my cart who would not stop talking about the course for the entire 5.5+hr slog....did I mention it was CPO on almost all the holes, and muddy), then one of the better rounds in the field on day 2. Just about everyone had a similar experience.

Windy, muddy, cart path only, aerated, bunkers flooded and/or unraked, sloooow play, and unmarked waste areas.

Unfortunate.

On day 1 we also had some guy with a string trimmer and leaf blower following us for every shot for the first 3-4 holes. Why? He wasn't even working on the area of play, just some random shit around the cart path. But there he was. Every shot. The pro shop said there was nothing they could do because of the superintendent.

After a while we assumed the superintendent was either trying to get fired or was f***ing with everyone on purpose...maybe as part of some dispute with the MSGA.

But the MSGA is a good org and they offered everyone a $50 refund on our entry fees because it was not up to their standards. I've never seen that before, either.

No sandstorms, though. You need sand in the bunkers for that.

They’re going to be bad for a few years. Unfortunately Ted was too damn stubborn and thought that competing for the play-in with a luxury tax team was a better idea than doing a full rebuild when Wemby was available.

If I had to bet, I would wager no more than 3-4 players from this year’s roster will be on the team in three years: Coulibaly, Poole, and maybe Advija and Johnny Davis Jr.
