Just make sure you guys make it in 2026
I’ll stop watching football forever if we don’t qualify with 9 spots available lol

But to be fair, players couldn’t eat/drink until the 70th minute today, maybe that’s why we looked sluggish

Kevin van der Kerkhof is not a name I would have thought Algerian, nor French for that matter. More like Dutch (because of Willy/Rene) or Belgian.
He apparently has a dutch name (VDK) and an Algerian one (Guitoune) lol

Somehow you made a link between putting pressure on an U18 player and Aouar.

Well done.

I think that's his point. Aouar isn't a kid and you were still upset that they poached him.
How?
I was never upset they poached him
I pointed to him for negociation for months after his career went downhill. I pointed to his hypocrisy when he said he regretted playing for France in order for Algerians to like him. (because they didn't like him joining).

Not easy speaking with someone who makes up stuff.

Huge drama in Sweden yesterday.

Sweden won 5-0 against Azerbaijan. After the game one of the panelists, Bojan Djordjic confronted manager Andersson by asking why Jesper Karlsson only got to play eight minutes in two games. Andersson got defensive because he was asked such a question after winning 5-0 and it led to a three minute full-blown argument between the two on live TV. The panelist even pulled out the race card implying that Andersson was being racist during one instance of the argument. Another panelists tried to step in and ask another question, but Djordjic and Andersson were completely zeroed in on eachother.

Have to say that both of them handled it very poorly. Iconic moment of Swedish television right here. Wonder if there will be any consequences.

Belgium is so much better than Germany it’s hard to comprehend.

I don’t get why people think Germany has a bright future. I keep seeing the same lineups with the same bad players. Flick sucks. They have zero young talent on defense to replace Ginter or Sule or whoever else they’re forced to trot out there.

Germany will not be contending for any Euro or World Cup trophies for a very long time, possibly never again. Not with how far they’ve fallen.

De Bruyne shredding the German defense early

Who doesn’t shred the German defense?

I do love that Flick had to try it first, just to make sure that 2 attacking FBs with LeGo & Kimmich couldn't work against a talented team. But that was a rough first half to the half

Sure this group has little understanding of how to play together, but those early issues were structural. They still haven't played together much, but the match changed completely once Can came on...who really does look like a new man this season.

Shame we didn't have Musiala, Havertz, Sane, Adeyemi, or Moukoko, and Wirtz came off after 30 minutes. It's going to be so much fun to watch this team with Can next to Kimmich and all of our offensive weapons behind Füllkrug :naughty:

...getting Schlotterbeck & Süle/Bella Kotchap in there for Kehrer & Ginter won't hurt either

Could be 4-0 easily by now

Yeah Lukaku's header was a quality chance and Lukebakio really should've made it at least 3-0...but that was a perfect encapsulation of both the gifts & curse of Lukebakio

I wish playing with 2 WBs and no 6 had worked, but like suspected we need to either play a lopsided back 4 (if not 4 CBs), or use a strong holder to free us to play with attacking FBs. Can't have our cake & eat it.

What in the world is Can doing on that goal. No interesting playing football it seemed

Guessing he had noticed the third belgian coming on the right and so was trying to predict whether the cross would come in to KdB or the far man, ending up getting caught in no man's land.

But sometimes you've just gotta tip your cap to the opponent, that was just a very well taken goal.

Must be said that the Belgian goal was against the run of play; Germany has been dominant for the second half.

Yeah playing with 2 WB & both Goretzka/Kimmich was a huge failure for the first 30

Somewhere between these two posts there's a happy medium where the German squad actually lies.
