The key difference here is that Argentina doesn't benefit from Italy like France benefits from its colonial past and I highly doubt that Argentinians attachment/link to Italy is as present as binnationals in French with their African/Maghrebi roots. The problem with you is that you only want one side to benefit from that (France from its colonial past) instead of both (former colonies enjoying the fruits of some Binationals trained in Europe). That's why you're problematic. But of course you don't understand this.
WHAT? Who are you to judge how an argentinian feels? OMG what a racist you are !!!!! :amazed:

It's silly to get this worked up over. It sucks sometimes as fans, but it's better than locking players into FAs that they may not feel connected to or may not have a future with.

I will be bummed out if Wanner picks austria, but I won't begrudge him or Ragnick for poaching him:dunno:

One or two players perhaps. But this is almost like transfer policy. We're talking about over a dozen.players. And some with immense talent and potential headlined by Prestianni. It's diabolical.

This might be the reason Scaloni has been very active incorporating the young players just to be around the senior squad. I really think this plays a part trying to make them feel part of the team and just watching the stars of today. Im not too worried right now but for sure they cant just let it happen. What their doing so far is good.

Surprised Italy hasn't gone after Romero. Although he's looking like a bust but still doesn't hurt to take a flyer on him.
Perhaps. And also what they've made sure the likes of Garnacho, Paz etc,etc with both parents who are Argentine or one in Alejandro's case feel the jersey. But Scaloni can only lock them down with a competitive match. As soon as the WCQs commence I'd give Prestianni, Echeverri, Balerdi, Barco match time. That's Valentin Barco.

Barco hasn't played for boca yet because of a contract which finally settled. Not sure how realistic that is. I wouldnt be opposed as long as it doesn't get in the way of what he's has built.

Putting pressure on U18 kids to choose a country they're have not lived on should be against the law, simply put.
Totally different if the kids ask to. No problem with that. But the other way shouldn't be accepted.

Let’s see how many of them actually make the switch and end up making an impact on Italy’s senior team.

Don’t get my wrong, as a German fan I would rather have Wanner, Samardzic, Tillman, etc. as options for us than not…but they’re leaving for better opportunities and I can’t blame them for that. If we had the same need for them then maybe they wouldn’t be leaving :dunno:

No one is putting a gun to their head. This is the equivalent of NCAA recruiters courting athletes.
That's awful.
Pushing a young kid into rushing a decision, buying his decision with money when his family is in needs without any interest in his long term interests...
Minor aged players should not have to receive that pressure. If they're the ones asking, no problem.

It's a good thing you don't live in the states, you would lose you mind with what goes on in the NCAA. It's only getting worse with the NIL deals now too.

Poverty really is a tragedy. If only no family was under any financial pressures; so that kids could make their decisions purely based on which NT would be better for their careers.

Like cgf said this is a way out. I don’t even believe it makes them cup tied to play youth competitions.

These guys took the international break to party lol. Love it. Clubs must be looking at this cheesed though.

Feel bad for Garnacho who couldn’t make it.

I think my ideal lineup with Havertz & Schlotterbeck having returned to their clubs, would be:

Füllkrug
Schade - Wirtz - Gnabry
Can - Kimmich
Raum - Thiaw - Ginter - Wolf
ter Stegen
I still like the idea of playing 4 CBs behind Kimmich, 4 attackers, and Füllkrug...but Can really seemed like what we had been missing, and I'd like to see how he or Stach does next to Kimmich, Goretzka, or Gundogan in the midfield with the A-team:

Füllkrug/Moukoko
Musiala/Sane - Havertz/Adeyemi - Wirtz/Gnabry
Can/Stach - Kimmich/Goretzka
Raum/Netz - Schlotterbeck - Rüdiger/Süle - Wolf/Baku
ter Stegen
--------------------------------------------------
Füllkrug/Moukoko
Sane/Adeyemi - Havertz - Musiala - Wirtz/Gnabry
Kimmich/Gundogan
Schlotterbeck - Süle - Rüdiger/ABK - Klostermann
ter Stegen
--------------------------------------------------
just for fun:

Füllkrug/Moukoko
Sane/Adeyemi - Havertz - Wirtz - Musiala - Gnabry/Knauff
Kimmich/Gundogan
Schlotterbeck - Rüdiger/ABK - Süle/Klostermann
ter Stegen

But they are using the economic situation in Argentina. By implying they will get moves to Serie A. That puts real pressure on any kid Who wouldn't want to help their family out ?

And some of the players they are targeting like Prestianni will get a big move to Europe soon anyway. Others like Puch who is of German descent, are in an area where the selection is weak. Retegui for instance would have been on the radar I am certain after Lautaro and Julian.

I find it very unseemly that they are trying to nab some of our brightest talents just because their own development programme is so bad.

Garnacho,Paz , V.Carboni, Barco call them up for WCQ1/2. Time to say goodbye to Papu (Almada), Otamendi (Licha), Pezzella(Medina), Paredes (Varela.)

The way I look at it is those who are good enough know they'll get paid at some point. I certainly dont like it but I won't lose sleep over it. Not until the likes of Garnacho or Prestanni leave. That would suck.

Well Almada is already in I dont see him leaving so soon. Papu I agree with. Otamendi has a bit more time and can be used as a bench option, I wouldnt cut him until after next copa provided he still has it. Paredes too I definitely think Enzo is now the clear starter but I wouldnt hate seeing Paredes off the bench. Pezzella is a waste of space though, Medina and Perez are clearly bette time they get some minutes.

Manu not returning Flick's calls is pretty funny. He's going out like Kahn did, throwing a tantrum the whole way.

Anyways from the sound of things the first 11 against Belgium will be:

Füllkrug
Wirtz - Werner - Gnabry
Can - Kimmich
Raum - Kehrer - Ginter - Wolf
ter Stegen
I wanted to see how Schade & Thiaw would've done if given the starts over Werner & Kehrer.

You need to watch Martinez Quarta more. He's having a Romero-like season.
