Well the Dybala one was quite obvious, but that's what happens without VAR...
Dybala is really looking to impress tonight.
Wants to show he can thrive on the field with Messi.

Messi has had so many chances on FK damn.

Almada cleans up good for him but please move to Europe.

Dubious foul to the lead up though

Obviously, a lot of these kids will stagnate without reaching their full potential for one reason or another, but thinking about how many of our 2005ers look like they have senior-NT futures atm:

Weiper, Pejcinovic,
Wanner, Ibrahimovic, Bischof, Raebiger...Krattenmacher, Ulrich,
di Benedetto, Aseko Nkili,
Buchmann, Schulz,

...got me lamenting just how dire things were between 97-00. Those 4 age groups have provided the senior NT with:

Havertz...Burkardt...Nmecha, Berisha
Neuhaus, Stach, Janelt...Keitel, Nmecha
Raum...Henrichs, Baku...Vagnoman
Schlotterbeck...Beyer, Bauer

The 2001ers and 02ers have more talent than that between the two of them; even after Samardzic switched to Serbia:

Adeyemi...Schade, Knauff, Beier, Leweling...Thielmann, Alidou, Weißhaupt
Martel, Breithaupt, Stiller...Krauß...Huseinbasic, Röhl
Marco John;
Bella Kotchap, Thiaw, Dardai...Schmidt
Atubolu

...not even getting into the absolutely loaded 2003-2005 age groups, that add to the 2005ers, the likes of:

Moukoko, Diehl, Tresoldi, Copado
Musiala, Wirtz, Damar, Kabadayi, Kade
Wenig, Aydin, Tohumcu, Wagner, Frauendorf, Eze
Netz, Rothe, Ullrich, Castrop, Ba
Gechter, Morgalla, Arrey Mbi, Collins
Urbig

Curious to see how Samardzic does on his debut for Serbia. They've got some real talent building up if they can ever stop being less than the sum of their parts.

With Vlahovic, Mitrovic, Kostic, Tadic, Samardzic, Ilic, Milinkovic-Savic, Pavlovic, Milenkovic, etc. it shouldn't be hard to put an interesting team together.

I would love another WM in SA :naughty:

The atmosphere would be electric and for historical reasons marvellous too. But we know conehead only cares about lucre. Athens ought to have had the centenary games that went to Sydney and we know how that turned out.

The issue is with infrastructure and the state of the economies there at present. It would be great though if the bid was successful because it might just provide an impetus to development, tourism dollars and upgrading of stadiums. Monumental needs for instance an upgrade all over. Estudiantes have the most recent modern large scale stadium but you would need with the current size of the competition several more.

I'm a big fan of Samardzic, he's already a good Serie A player at his age, I think he's a loss for Germany. Very complete player too with a high level of effort for an offensive player.

Yeah. I'm obviously psyched that Wanner is sticking with us for now, but like I said when he made it official, I won't be shocked at all if Samardzic ends up good enough to have started for us at the 8. Kid has a great left foot with a good frame, excellent technique, and natural combativeness.
