We'll see how they actually line up, but looks like I was right about Timo being played off Füllkrug. As the 11 will be: Füllkrug, Werner, Havertz, Wirtz, Kimmich, Can, Raum, Schlotterbeck, Ginter, Wolf, and ter Stegen.

Gotta love NT-Kai :yo:

If Wirtz, Havertz, & Musiala are ever fit for us at the same time, not even france will be able to stop us from creating.

Having Füllkrug back into defenders or get his head to balls does give us a different element...but you can tell this is a group that has not played together very much.

I think Flick over corrected a little with just Kimmich, Wirtz, & Havertz...though Musiala, Sane, Brandt, & Burkardt not being there might be the cause...

I like what Can is doing for this shape and Füllkrug changes the dynamic in a good way, but I'd play Kai or Gnabry off the striker instead of Timo, with the other opposite Flo; given who's available.

Would be curious to see Schade in the Timo role to, figure he'll get a cameo there at some point today.

EDIT:
Fantastic double-save from the Peruvian keeper to deny Flo & Timo's follow up.

Raum with a beauty of a cross that Timo & Nico almost got on the ends of.

EDIT2:
You know I didn't think Wolf was NT caliber, but that was a fantastic cross in for Füllkrug's second.

Oh how differently the WM could've gone if Füllkrug & ter Stegen had started for us instead of Müller & Neuer *sigh*

I know this isn't the strongest Peru team, but I like what Can & Füllkrug have done for the shape. Just need Musiala, Sane, Moukoko, or Adeyemi to replace Timo, and the offense will be too sexy.

Not sure whether I prefer Can next to Kimmich + an attacking RB like Wolf, Hofmann, Groß, Baku, or Knauff. Or if I'd rather play a more attacking midfielder next to Kimmich like Goretzka (or even Musiala) + a defensive RB like Klostermann, Henrichs, Süle, Bella Kotchap, or Thiaw.

Probably a lot of eyes on Brazil’s match from Chelsea’s board

Seems like their new signing, Andrey Santos, is going to get his first cap at 18

Italy want to call up Prestanni… yikes how about we merge federations would be easier. They’re really hurting though. Better for everyone they find the talent I’m still shocked it’s gotten to the point of this.

Itatina? Argentinalya?

lmao Sorloth

Morocco actually had to pay the Brazilian federation to play that game, smh
Everything I read from Twitter was that Santos did not play well and was not ready for that call up.

Apparently the whole team was poor, though.

To be fair to all those new players, they were playing against the last WC semi-finalist on home ground and who pretty much started their full line-up.

That some Italian posters on this board and in their media are spitting out of jealousy on France for having players born in France but of African origin on their NT while their own NT is nationalizing Brazilian and argentinian players every year with those guys not having ties with Italy in the first place.
Of course their main problem is that some are black (unacceptable) and others are white (acceptable).

I mean at this rate 2026 is shaping to be an all Argentinean final which isn't half bad. I just feel bad for Italy. Don't like such historic teams fall this hard. They cant develop 3 great players its legitimately crazy. Last WC player they have is who Verrati that was like a decade ago. Their in a worse spot than the Dutch.

Unrelated but a couple of months ago our favourite poster compared Argentina to Belgium post Messi lool.

TBF Belgium has a lot of young talent. Martinez was just too lazy to integrate them.

2026 is ours anyway. We're getting a medal next summer, and then reclaiming that trophy two years later :yo:

It's a disgrace. They've sent over a delegation trying to recruit players. Much like clubs trying to unsettle players. FIFA need to crack down on it. Just because their own youth development is so bad. They can get lost with regards to Prestianni, Infantino and Puch for certain. I'm sure they are trying to target families by offering club spots and money. Shameless. Perhaps a few words of Messi speaking out about it would also help and having a word with the youth player like those of the u17 gathered at Ezeiza.

Careful what you write here about those methods.

The key difference here is that Argentina doesn't benefit from Italy like France benefits from its colonial past and I highly doubt that Argentinians attachment/link to Italy is as present as binnationals in French with their African/Maghrebi roots. The problem with you is that you only want one side to benefit from that (France from its colonial past) instead of both (former colonies enjoying the fruits of some Binationals trained in Europe). That's why you're problematic. But of course you don't understand this.

This might be the reason Scaloni has been very active incorporating the young players just to be around the senior squad. I really think this plays a part trying to make them feel part of the team and just watching the stars of today. Im not too worried right now but for sure they cant just let it happen. What their doing so far is good.

Surprised Italy hasn't gone after Romero. Although he's looking like a bust but still doesn't hurt to take a flyer on him.
