That's awful.
Pushing a young kid into rushing a decision, buying his decision with money when his family is in needs without any interest in his long term interests...
Minor aged players should not have to receive that pressure. If they're the ones asking, no problem.
Sorry to bring up an old conversation, but does this apply to clubs, too?

Honestly feel bad for the keeper. It’s 7-0 and you can argue he has been the most impressive player on the pitch.

Here are the CONCACAF Nations League semifinal matchups in June, games taking place in Las Vegas

Don't particularly like the scheduling CONCACAF does, essentially they have this mini-tournament then the Gold Cup pretty much a few weeks later, eventually there will be less buzz about US-Mexico is there isn't already

If we use Mount money on Mac Allister I s2g. Mac Allister is lovely, but Mount is SIGNIFICANTLY better.
On paper, yes. On the pitch/fitting into a system; especially in the midfield? Give me Mac Allister. Not about having an all star team. Fundamentally there is a reason Chelsea want Mount out; and it’s not because of his talent. It’s because of scheme fit. It’s the same reason Maddison can’t get a better move from Leicester. He plays a very specialized position and most of the top teams would not be wise to build the team around them in said position

Chelsea doesn’t want Mount out, they’re apart on an agreement. Don’t pretend you know what you’re talking about on Chelsea stuff.
I mean to me it’s semantics. Fact is Chelsea have enough money to get this done if they want to get it done. It’s not cost prohibitive to them

Silly argument. Just because Chelsea has money doesn't mean they should bend over for whomever asks.

They shouldn’t but

1 - they do

2 - home grown, two time club player of the year, national team members that are (at least theoretically) in their prime; are generally not players teams entertain the thought of leaving early.

3 - of course Mount wants to get paid because of 1 and 2

Yeah, kinda weird to play hardball with "your guy" but spend blindly on transfer fees? If they wanted Mount to stay then he would stay. Agreeing with Savant twice in a week pretty weird.

Just look at Toni Kroos. If he hadn't been washed then bayern would never have let him leave :sarcasm:

Spurs are crumbling so much even Son is involved in contraversy

TL/DR, Kim Min-jae said national duty was wearing him out and wanted to rest. S Koreans blasted him for prioritizing club over country and it seems Son was pissed as well. Kim then issued an apology. Son then posted about what an honor it always is to play for South Korea. Kim then unfollowed Son on Instagram.

:)

the drama!!!!!!

I don’t think it’s comparable but whatever. Big Difference between going abroad and likely staying in the same league

@Power Man
Gouiri apparently is choosing Algeria.
BUT, he doesn't want to "choose" until the U21 Euro is finished

Sources are algerian only for now.

If his heart feels this way I don't see the point.
Nor for the federation which would give the playing time to someone else.

Mind you a few weeks ago he denied it saying he felt french.
The algerian federation was hurt to see Morocco doing this well and has been raiding and promising tons of stuff to players.

Same reason Wanner won't make his decision yet, because Germany & France are rich nations that put a lot of resources into their youth systems. So it's better for Gouiri & Wanner's development to continue with our youth teams before they make their permanent decisions...and it would've been even if they had known from day 1 that they would never play for our respective senior teams.

I'm sure he feels both Algerian & French, so even if career considerations weren't a factor it likely would not be as simple as just playing for the country he feels a connection to.

I have no problem with him switching.
Again the main problem is the whole hypocrisy around it.
Saying a few weeks back he wasn't considering playing for Algeria and felt french.
Then I'm gessing negociate with the algerian federation, then apparently giving his ok but only after a competition where he'll play for France instead of someone who wants to play for France not just for personnal purposes.
Anyway all of this might be moot anyway until we get a real confirmation.

It sucks that we're still learning to behave in the internet era and so every public figure has to be extremely mindful of PR to avoid abuse & harrassment...and that football has become so commercialized that kids have to be so strategic with their NT decisions;

Especially when it's so easy for someone to feel a sincere & deep connection to multiple nations / cultures, and for our emotions to seem contradictory or conflicted from the outside.

But asking the kids to put themselves in the crosshairs of assholes on the internet by not playing the PR game, or to hamper their careers, is unfair to them.

We can not punish individuals for society's shortcomings. That's why I don't blame the players for saying hypocritical things in the press or playing for whichever program they feel is best for their career.

Personally, I think it's awesome that federations like Morocco and Algeria have grown enough in prestige and competitiveness that they can convince major young talent to play for them early on instead of a select few teams hoarding the talent. How is that an issue at all? This is better for world football.
