I mean.. I'm sorry but neither of those guys are even close to the level of prospect Askarov is. Both older and have been less consistent. They don't even have that much of a size advantage on him and that's their main draw

And how would you get rid of Josi? I believe he’s building a new house. Seems pretty happy. And of course he has to approve any type of move/trade. Stamkos? Just uprooted his entire family, put them in new schools, and bought a $6M house. Can’t trade him. Same story for all these vets, basically. They aren’t going anywhere. They came here to retire. Maybe one or two of them will want to go to a contender at some point.

Only people you can get rid of are the coach and the GM. :baghead:

Again, I’m not near as concerned about Askarov being on the roster as some people on this board. I simply do not care where he’s playing. I think Annunen and Chrona would be just fine behind a good roster.

Offer him a chance to take control of his future and select one of X fine options who have offered the acceptable package for him. If not, strip the C and cut his ice time. If he has no pride and is ok toiling away 20 minutes a night on a crap team for the next 5+ years, with the impact to his stats and HoF credentials, so be it.

Affluent people build houses all the time . Strip him of his captaincy and scratch him until he waives.

Same with Stamkos and Forsberg

I am not sure the true Preds fan would take lightly to that kind of treatment to either Josi or FF. Stamkos is a IDC. I don't think GMBT cares at this time. I think he is vindictive and has a massive ego. That is a difference with him and Poile. At least Poile acted like he cared. Not BT.

At that point, just go down with the ship and obtain a great draft pick. Trotz can try to move out some of Bruno's favorite go to players that arent doin anything and strip the team to a minimal roster or flex some influence on Bruno to try and get the younger future players more ice time. Move off Bruno in the offseason and go from there. We arent making the playoffs and honestly at this point, ill take the pain and pick 1-4 over some stupid run of better unispired play and pick 10-14

They should trade Nyquist as soon as possible anyway. With his injury history, and then his participation in the February tournament, I wouldn't try to wait for some magical bidding war at the TDL. I don't know how many of our other spare parts will have any market, probably Sissons and Lauzon would if they were willing to move them, or Schenn. I guess just keep monitoring for any opportunities, but I'd trade Nyquist tomorrow if I could get a 3rd rounder for him.

Why? If we want to deal him to open up ice time for kids, I'm all for it. If he is otherwise a problem, ship him out. But if it's about the return and all we are getting is a 3rd, what is the hurry? We have 3 1sts and 2 2nds this year, after having extra picks last few years too. Getting an extra 3rd isn't going to move the needle in any way.

yeah, let's draft more 1st round picks and let them sit in Milwaukee for 3-4 years before we waive them.

I definitely get the sense that Trotz cares. He just doesn't have the experience to channel his care in the best directions for franchise success yet. He will take care of the veteran UFA players he wooed and signed. And honor the existing place that Josi and FF9 hold in the pantheon of Preds history.

I think the only way we ever move any of Forsberg, Josi, O'Reilly, Stamkos, Marchessault, Skjei, or Saros is if they approach him and request a move themselves. If they do, then like with McDonagh, he is going to do his best to facilitate that request. We probably won't get anything significant in return, given the nature of those contracts. I think we all just need to plan around having those players on our team throughout the term of their contracts, and work around those in all future planning.
 
OK, I am going by rumblings which I have zero faith on. But I’m hearing that the Rangers are very much interested in Steven Stamkos. Stammer for Mika?
