OK, I am going by rumblings which I have zero faith on. But I’m hearing that the Rangers are very much interested in Steven Stamkos. Stammer for Mika?
I don't watch Zibanejad to have a personal opinion about his current state, but I am aware Rangers fans hate him and think he stinks. Still, he's a center, he has 13 even strength points. His contract is only 1 year longer than Stamkos and he's a few years younger. I'm thinking he cannot possibly be worse than Stamkos, so I'd do it.

How you get 2 guys with NMCs to change places, I don't think it happens, but at least from a fantasy swap, I'm in.

I know it's not my choice, but if it were, I'd absolutely try changing coaches before trying to jettison all our players. I know Stammer is older and his 5v5 is not good, but I still believe there is more there than what we have seen. Same for March. I just have a hard time accepting that these guys literally fell off a cliff in 4 months. Could also be the fact that every roster player looks worse year over year from last season. Common denominator sure points to something else.

You say that, but guess what the whole Trouba waver fiasco made it so the Rangers can go wave your no move or we just wave you oh by the way Nashville has the first waiver priority

NMC should protect against waivers/reassignment to the AHL Only NTC can be skirted by waiving. All our guys, and Zibanejad, have NMCs. In theory, the only way around is buyout.

Just waive Pärssinen and be done with it…

For the life of me i do not understand why we are not leveraging our top 6 veteran depth more with how thin our center group is. We throw two rookies on a line with March, load up the vets on line 1, try to CPR some magic with the ol' 3rd line from last season, and chuck leftovers onto the 4th line. Could seriously use svech, Parsnips, novak, sissons/McCarron down the center but nah

Thay d group pairings will last all of 2 seconds. Skjei and Josi gonna get about 30 mins of ice time. Itll be a goat rope of pairings from there

After deep investigation, if the rumbling was true stammer for Mika, I want the Rangers to offset the fact that Mika’s contract just sucks

It's essentially the same deal as Stamkos' at this point. I mean, I don't know if this deal is even close to on the table in reality, but all it really accomplishes is a change of scenery for two struggling guys. At this point since Stamkos is a bit older and looks more cooked to me, I'd probably just do it, but it's not really going to move the needle in terms of the future of this team.

yeah, let's draft more 1st round picks and let them sit in Milwaukee for 3-4 years before we waive them.
EXACTLY! GMBT and Brunno have NOT shown that they will play much of any the young players! Probably would try and bring back the Great One, Mario and/or Jagr! Heck why not ask Hasek to be goalie! Kidding all aside. Trotz hasn't shown he knows how to make deals like Poile...yet or is willing to play and trust the young players. So stocking up on all of these picks seems useless right now.

I don't know where a lot of these rumors come from but if it's not one of the big 4 or 5 guys, it's all basically bullshit to generate clicks.

I want Lavi back
You made me check the main board. Since it has been heavily rumored for the last bit that the Rangers would fire him, and I also had been thinking it would be alright (if we're going the re-cycle route anyway) to take him back as Bruno's replacement.

He tends to do well at first, and I think he could work worth our old/slow roster ok. For a couple years, anyway.

Stamkos isn't the problem.

We can afford him. We need goal scoring. He is an ace on the powerplay.

Don't give up based on a sample size where he is on a new team, in a blender of a lineup, and with a coach who isn't up to par.

We did this with Duchene. We scapegoat players who still have talent just because we can pick at a flaw in his game. These players should be supported in the area they excel, not jammed into a dysfunctional lineup spot/plan of attack.

Stammer isn't the speed demon he used to be, but he has the shot and skill to be a highly effective star forward for us. IT is still there. I would not even remotely consider giving up yet unless he asks to be traded.

Coaching is the issue here. It has been the issue. I hate to say that, but you can't put players in disadvantageous situations and expect success. It is almost like Bruno is waging a war against himself. He is so bad, he hurts the team rather than helps.

This is the problem. Bruno is going to play his style regardless of the players he has. I am not sure he knows any other way.

Will be interesting to see the defense with Lauzon and Carrier out. Schenn, Wilsby, and Blankity-Blank-Blank each had about 18 mins ot TOI against OTT. Carrier was on his way to 18-20 before injury. So maybe MDG just gets 16-18 and Skjei picks up the extra shifts here and there.

I'm curious to where you are hearing this?

I think this would be a massive win for the team. Stammer might be a bit of a better goal scorer than Zib, but Zib is a center and better overall offensively plus three years younger. Sign me up immediately.

1) first came to my eyes from a YouTube conglomerator by the name of hot take hockey

2) did some google checking and it seems that hockey news was also picking up on that

3) ZiB is my idea. I looked over the roster of the rangers and said myself, which of these things would look better on the Nashville predators his contract is worse than Stemmers, but he is a center.

4) rangers fans would love to run Mika on rail, but I look at his stats and I say I’ve seen worse, also when I talk to them, they said they don’t like ZiB but couldn’t give me a clear notion why they want him gone

5) in my mind a treat would look like this stammer for Mika +1st. Why do I say that Mika‘s contract is slightly worse than stammers by two years and a half a million. That’s wise I would actually call them a push. Yes Staco has more goals, but Mika has way more assist and something tells me that this team needs to playmaker more than a goal score.

6) rangers were trying to pick up Stamkos last year

That is my timeline of knowledge
