Hagelin traded soon, most likely. Have a feeling Grundstrom plays this week with Reign and is called up for Saturday's game.
If he stays in Ontario longer, no big deal. He can play LW or RW too, apparently. Didn't Wagner get injured in a Reign game? How bad?

Kovalchuk Kopitar Brown
Leipsic Carter Toffoli
Iafallo Kempe Grundstrom
Clifford Thompson Wagner
Luff

Forbort Doughty
Fantenberg Martinez
Phaneuf Ladue
Walker

Quick
Campbell

Can I know why people like Forbort so much? I don’t understand why coaches keep insisting on pairing him with DD. The guy is not a top pairing dman. Would love to see him never play another game for the Kings, straight up.

Leaf fan coming in peace.

Do you guys think the price tag for Martinez is higher? Who has more value of the two?

No, Muzzin's definitely more valuable. I think Martinez is worth ~2 second-round picks. I hope we keep Marty for another year and then re-evaluate. Don't think he has significantly more value with 2 years left on his contract as opposed to 1. Plus we need, you know, actual NHL defensemen to play.

You just got about the #30th rated defenseman in the NHL. Jake may be the Kings' MVP this season.
The Kings are MINUS 36 Goal differential, and Muzzin is team leading Plus 10. Pretty epic.
He's emerged into a leader as well. He's on top of his game right now. Focused. Playing hard.
Laying out some massive hits...playing very solid game.

The 2014 Cup, Jake was awesome and scored 6 goals and 6 assists in the 26 games.
You can go to war with him. Promise.

double post, sorry. and meant to respond to the Leaf fan.

Wow, I was not expecting this when I got home from work... Surprisingly, it looks like a good trade for both teams, but only time will tell. That is a good return for Muzzin, and I am glad that management has finally, truly, indicated that either a rebuild or a serious retooling is in order (hopefully the former). Solid deal, we cannot complain about that return... Let's hope the rough years ahead are short and we can get back to competitive playoff hockey as soon as possible!

Pissed that we lost Grundstrom. The media continues to call him a future third liner but they're full of it. He easily tops out as a top six complementary winger with speed + hits and a nice shot.
Durzi is a high risk/high reward type drafted this past summer.
Overall, good trade for both teams.

Fixed:
"We're at the bottom of the league. We made this deal to make sure we stay that way."

Seriously, it is a solid move for the future. Two prospects with potential and a first for 1.4 seasons of Muzzin? I think Blake did alright here.

and
there are active calls around the league.”
its only the beginning.

I am happy with his return quite a bit, and for multiple reasons. Primarily because it signals that management sees what we see: this team needs a rebuild.

However, no one doubted Muzzin could be moved for a solid return. Blake’s real test will be moving Carter, Quick, and Hagelin.

Gotta start somewhere, and this is a good start.

Many leaf fans peddled Bracco over Grundstrom. Lots of leaf fans not happy to lose Grundstrom either.

Course they are thrilled to keep Liljegren.

Durzi is trending up as an over aged player. He’s a wild card but he is another rhd to add to the prospect pool. The pick will make or break the total value of the return. Hoping LA mines some gold with it.
Durzi is actually trending down. Absolutely awful draft+draft+1 year and Grundy’s ceiling is a career 3rd liner. Just being honest.

the best part of this deal, is that LA got a player in Grundstrom that just loves the grind, which is exactly what LA always lacked

**Note - judging by most people's replies to my comments, i'm obliged to now state when i'm being sarcastic. This is one of them. Thank you

So if you guys don’t win a Cup soon does that mean Matthews and Marner weren’t really 1st liners? It’s a good hockey trade, just leave our boards if you’re going to peddle revisionist history.

Cool story bro.

Old news, he declined immensely. He's more likely to not even make the NHL.

so? Blake was looking for two pieces for Muzzin (one of them being a 1st rounder), it was even posted on the main board

you guys felt generous and gave us an extra freebie

thanks man!

now... let ME be just honest here... TO gave us, adding to your point, three useless pieces for a year and half of Muzzin

TO better be landing a cup in that span otherwise this entire trade was just a bunch of useless players swapping for each other, i'm just being honest here
