Muzzin taketh, and he giveth away. Kings lose to FLA 3-2

I only saw it once, but I saw what looked like a no look pass right onto the tape of an oncoming forward by Muzzin. That ain't pretty.

That was the tying goal, definitely a bonehead play by Muzzin. The game winning goal was Doughty's fault (along with Quick not covering the short side).

LAK will not make the playoffs. And if Carey Price is healthy, it is Montreal that is going to win the Cup. Please show compassion here, I am going to be nagged by those Hab fans come playoff time...

Sutter will not come back after this year. Not that I want him to leave but he will leave himself.
I think it's very possible! He was kind of dragged off the farm to get him down here in the first place! It's not like he put in a job application and made several follow up calls to show he was interested! He did it all as a favor to DL, and at the time, he might have been thinking maybe this will only last until the end of the season. Of course, he wins the Cup, and the rest is history!!

Ahh, I misread your first post. It was Muzzins brain fart that gave all the momentum to Panthers though. We just can't seem to hold a lead these days.

It was a perfect pass...tape to tape.

Muzzin should have gotten an assist on the play. If I were scoring it for the NHL, I definitely would have given Muzzin the first star of the game.

Jets project to grab final wild-card spot with 94 pts. To get to 95 points, Kings would need to go 20-10-1.

I'll probably be in big dog poo for suggesting this but, after hearing almost every player who has worn a Kings' jersey this winter from Richards on down being chastised and blamed for this team's failures, has anyone considered that maybe, just maybe, Darryl Sutter has worn out his welcome to the point that he's a major contributor to the team's current lack of success. And now that Mike Richards (but not his contract) is out of the picture, has Justin Williams become the new Richards, like a phoenix rising from the ashes?

which is why i'm really scared that DL is going to throw a 5+ year contract of 8million or so... keeps me up at night actually

bad enough the Quick, Brown contracts ... the Kopi one can be a potential killer

the only legit long term contract is Doughty

This contract stuff is getting a bit crazy. Richards, Greene, alright, that discussion makes sense. Brown, Quick, Kopitar...who is supposed to be on the team if not for those guys? Does any team just start trading guys that are coming up for contracts? Not just any guys, but the guys that the team has been built around for a decade.

Are the Kings supposed to trade every guy at their highest point? It's not fantasy hockey. It's not Billy Beane in Oakland.

I.... Are you guys serious? Oh my god.

It would take a miraculous run for them to win 20 games from here on out.

With the pace of OT/SOL, it would be more like 17-7-7 -- which is still barely winning more than they lose, but at least getting to the extra frame.

Pathetic that that's what this team needs to hang their hopes on.

The Kings are done but no chance Montreal can beat whatever beast emerges out of the west. Kings need to be sellers or next year might not be any better.

Nobody is saying trade Kopitar. We are saying don't give him Eight years and 90 million dollars.

Sutter is in "make someone a healthy scratch to send a message territory".

I guess management tried to send a message by waiving Richards, that clearly didn't work. Make Gaborik a healthy scratch, Muzzin. Start Jones. I don't really give a crap. Quick has been **** anyways.

I think it has more to do that our second defense pairing from last season is gone for this season.

Well that's good because 8 million over 8 years doesn't equal 90 million. I'll take Kopi on an 8 x 8 deal and run laughing.

I'm surprised at how mentally weak the team has become. The team used to pride itself on winning the 1-0 or 2-1 game, now they're giving it up. Muzzin is gonna get his nuts roasted by Sutter after that ****.

I think it's more mentally exhausted. Even though Potvin whined like a little baby tonight, he's right when he said playing high pressure games 2 of the past 3 seasons into June really takes it toll physically, mentally and emotionally.
They are making mistakes they haven't made in 3+ seasons. This team is spent. A long off season and a few new personnel will do them some good.
