Here. We. Go.

Wait -- with the luck the Kings have had this season, you think they'll manage to win a lottery? Naaah, on this pace, they'll manage to find a way to be put into the draft LATER than their record would justify. He's just as much of a pipe dream as the Stanley Cup. Unfortunately.

Tra,la,la,la, I proved to self tonite that when you don't have high expectations for the night, you don't actually feel bad at all. It was just another nail in the coffin for this team for the season. Maybe it's for the best afterall. all the big celebrations and patting selves on the back and they're now faced with reality, as is DL. Can't keep riding coat-tails from the past. Big drop down to reality and realize changes have got to be made now. It was fun while it lasted but, time to move on.

Guy's. Kopitar doesn't have to re-sign on July 1st. In fact with the season he and the team are having and the Loonie in the toilet his agent is probably going to tell him not to sign this summer and just roll the dice that both Anze and the Canadian dollar recover before July 2016 when he hits UFA.

And once again, here is where loyalty gets you. How can you be loyal the summer before and spend like a drunken sailor on bringing back third pairing defenders and fourth line centers but are now suddenly going to play hard ball with Kopitar. I'm not so much against playing hardball and being tough, but that should have started last summer. You can't compound the problem by potentially losing Kopitar as an UFA because if Kopi leaves just shut off the lights because the party is over.

Honestly I love Kopitar, he has been a stud. But if this is a glimpse into the future of Kopitar passed 27....I want no part of it.

The guy is getting outworked by Third/Fourth line centers. Kopitar has to be the driving force of this team, if he wants top dollar.

NO IF AND OR BUT ABOUT IT.

Like You said with Richards Herby...."I am a Kings fan first".

And his partner...that last goal was all on Doughty where he went for the puck instead of the man.

I only saw it once, but I saw what looked like a no look pass right onto the tape of an oncoming forward by Muzzin. That ain't pretty.

Just think, EPIX's is taping the entire freefall just in case anyone outside hasnt been paying attention. Episode two should be a flat out funeral in the locker room.

1-8-2 on the road against the East. 4 of a possible 22 points. 6th best home record. 4-4-4 against the West on the road. Not great, but that's 12 points in 12 games, it's breaking even. Their eastern road record is destroying their season.

Can't use the tired excuse next year if this keeps up. That's one positive from this season.

I just pray this isn't the season that Anaheim figures out how to play in the postseason. I don't think I could take that 1-2 punch.

So that was special. Watching the Flopanthers dive and play wounded soccer player all night was interesting. I hope that LOOOOO gets a fine for his death stunt. Of course the worst part of it all was that a very very very inferior team beat us.......AGAIN. Well on to the next newest hell. Can this season be over already?

which is why i'm really scared that DL is going to throw a 5+ year contract of 8million or so... keeps me up at night actually

bad enough the Quick, Brown contracts ... the Kopi one can be a potential killer

the only legit long term contract is Doughty

Detroit Red Wings - 23 consecutive years of making the playoffs - All the more remarkable.

The Kings will get better.
They have to. Right now they are playing Toledo Mudhens bad.
Has Sutter lost the room?
Has the entire team gotten old overnight?
Was Voynov the real MVP?
Will we all be eating crow in June?

So I don't think there's any doubt Dean should be a seller at the deadline. Williams, Stoll, and Regehr should be gone. Love Williams, it's a shame the twilight of his prime won't see a possible repeat, but he's a very valuable asset that will fetch a good return. Regehr is having a great year, sure, but there's no point in holding on to him. This team needs to get younger.

Kopitar, I hope you're satisfied having played yourself out of your Toews deal. There's no reason this guy should get a cent over 8 million on his next deal.

Resign Toffoli and Pearson. They're the future.

Everyone else can **** off for all I care, sans Doughty. I think you look into packaging one of Muzzin or Martinez in a deal that gets rid of Richards. Lombardi can conjure up whatever voodoo he needs to, sacrifice a goat, virgin, or whatever, but Richards needs to go so we have room to manuveur in the offseason.

And **** the haters, man. This core just provided us with the best three years a hockey team has played in two+ decades. I applaud all of them. But the ship has sailed. Time to retool.

I hear sacrificing virgin goats is particularly effective. Make it happen, Dean.

Herby's Green Jacket Award:

Muzzin -11
Brown -10
KOPITAR -8 ------WTF man seriously
King -8

Sigh.

I know. I've been accused of holding it all in and blowing up all at once...guess it's just my nature.

Anyway, SO told me you can't win every year. I told her that's true, but at least a defending champion should make the ****ing playoffs.

Ya, it's not the losing that bugs me so much as the stupid mistakes and lack of effort.

Anaheim is due for a long playoff run. They've earned it. And though I don't like the Ducks, I think another Cup for California would be great!

ANH has earned their season, they have something like 24 wins that were one goal games.

Agreed - they're doing something pretty special this last couple of regular seasons. But we all know the post-season is where Boudreau... ****s the bed.

Saying we need to go 21-10 last year to make the playoffs seemed like an absolute cake walk.

Saying we need to go 21-10 this year sounds like the equivalent of the Sabres winning the Stanley Cup.
