I am very satisfied with overall effort since allstar break...this team knows it has to go on a run to make the playoffs so we are finally seeing a sense of urgency in their play...more physical and more effort back checking. Talent wise the jets are in the same group as blues/preds/wild.... they just took too many games off and were not motivated. They are now out of necessity. Its still a big uphill climb to make the playoffs...but if they do....look out.....

I'm in your camp Objective Poster, and very well stated I might add. There's no question the talent is there, but the "consistent effort" and drive has not been there. Hopefully this is a turn around point for the team. They have to want it bad enough, to go out and get it. We'll see if they have it in them. They just won 5 of 6 points in their last 3 games, so not to bad at all.

5 point Wheeler? But ..... he's so old.
Was Wheeler that good, or just in the right places at the right times?

I do not think he is bad just that he lets in a hellyofabadgoal at least once a game

Every goal that goes in, even on a clear cut breakaway, was a statistical stinker. This is not soccer, where on a free kick, the goalies are literally playing a guessing game as about a 3-1 underdog. Assuming you view tip-in efforts as statistical efforts (and not "if it went in, it was good, otherwise, it was bad"), goalies are favorites to stop everything.

This is why Vezina winners have a 1 in 6 chance of being league average in a 15 game run (and vice versa).

This is why a reasonable sample size for goalies is measured in the *thousands* of shots.

At the end of the day, there is no better indicator of Bucky's performance than looking at his performance and the percentile chance that, if it were "all luck", a random goalie would outperform him.

It really is that 'voodoo'.

We also gave away Roslovic in that deal. Fine for us because he wasn’t gonna sign with us but that’s more value for Columbus. They made out really well too.

Hard to declare a winner until we see what Laine and PLD sign for (and where).
Roslovic will be waived eventually. We can get him back for free.

Great game tonight. Wheeler very good, Scheifele absolutely excellent. Too bad they're cancers and we're trading them.

Lowry's a shutdown line, I have confidence he can fulfill that role with 4th liners.

Copp-Ehlers-Perfetti in theory is our 3rd line, but you give them leading rotations so our seniors are juiced for the power play.

EDIT: This team doesn't have enough talent to run a proper top six. Teams can win games by containing Dubois-Connor. You run 4 lines and all of a sudden it gets a bit harder to shut the team down.
Top 6 is fine with Ehlers back. Allows them to run a 3rd scoring line, which they should. No need to balance minutes, just manage them better and base it on who’s going at the time.

The ONLY goalie you can change their name to put "bad" in would be Pavelec. Connor Hellebuyck is the BEST goalie in Winnipeg Jets history (1972-Present).

I agree. Next would be Brian Haywood who had a 33-17-7 one season with us. He went on to win 3 Jennings but that was with the Habs.

Liked how both PLD & Wheeler in post game interviews downplayed the individual stats and pumped the tires of Lowry and Dillon. Those 2 have been a force the last few games.

Really nice to get production from Scheifele and Wheeler, absolutely have to have them doing that if we are going to make a run here. And i absolutely love Dubois's game, just a tough bastard to contain with his size and strength.
Connor, Dubois, Perfetti
Ehlers , Scheifele, Wheeler .
