I wouldn't feel guilty at all, as you have a business to run, and when you get home from travelling etc, the last thing you want to do, is go out and shovel snow. If your paying $ 770.00 for 5 months, then that's a good deal, however if your paying $ 770.00 per month, your really paying heavy money. I would assume it's $ 770 for 5 months.

I pay guys off Kijiji to cut my lawn in the summer because my lawn mower broke down, and I pay $ 20.00 per cut, so it comes out to $ 60 to $ 80.00 per month, depending on how much rain there is. Just saves me the hassle, and also gives some guy money for gas for his car. There will be guys that quote $ 250.00 to $ 300 per mo -- usually bigger companies.

Right now,I do the snow myself for the exercise, but likely in the future I'll hire someone, especially if I decide to travel in the winter.

I still do the snow myself because I'm just cheap

But I could feel the age creeping up on me, and coupled with a back injury in December of 2016, I wound up buying a snowblower.

Most of the shoveling I do is to just get to the blower, and this year that still turns into quite a bit of exercise

Comments like these remind me of when the Oilers pointed the finger at Tobias Rieder for the team not making the playoffs.

Don't get me wrong, depth scoring is important, and Jets have certainly had that in spades in previous years (and missing Ehlers this year also hurts) - but since 2019 they have been forced to deploy Lowry (and friends) as a pure matchup line to make up for the defensive shortcomings of continually giving Scheifele and Wheeler the ice time to get outscored by 0.51 G/60 each game. This year, Scheifele has gotten 34% of 5v5 icetime, and then Lowry 25% (btw, who is at 1.2 GF/60 and 1.55 GA/60) - that's already 60% of the available 5v5 ice time. Then add on Dubois at 30% (outscoring opponents by only 0.11 G/60), and that's where you get 10% (or 6-7 minutes per game) to the 4th line to do... whatever they do, be an energy line or whatever.

Jets never had a depth problem as bad as the Oilers, but they do have a significant deployment problem. Wheeler has been a little bit "cold" in terms of his shooting, but neither of them have been close to breakeven in terms of a 5-game rolling xG for the last month (and 2GP isn't enough to draw on whether or not they've improved for the better) - at least with Scheifele there's some argument to be made that he is still creating lots offensively (and has done better without 26), but over the whole season he's essentially put up the 2nd worst xGA/60 in RAPM for any Jets forward since 2017-18:

Depth scoring, even if you get it, isn't overcoming the troubles of the deployment issues - it's just masked and looks a little bit closer because of goaltending (even if it's not at a Vezina caliber level).

Yup its all about what they give up to produce what they do with those two.

With perfetti’s vision, I would love to see him in some position on pp1.
Probably Wheelers spot. Then you put Dubois in front of the net. Weakens pp2 but they don't get on the ice much anyways.

Pionk Schmidt Ehlers Stasny Wheeler? You'd likely have to run a different setup but Schmidt has a great 1 t so maybe he slides down the wall? Stastny in front of the net and at the side Wheeler

I would also like someone with a better shot in the slot position. Copp just doesn't have the hands for it.
As impressed as I’ve been with Morrissey’s play this season, his puck movement on the PP has left me cold. I think he’s been too predictable and a little slow feeding Scheifele and Connor. Needs a little more misdirection .
He’s done well helping gain the Zone and his shot is decent.

I like Morrissey , very good player , he seems so close to taking that last little step to being a true #1 defenseman .

Agreed. Imo JoMo is more PP trigerman then QB. I'd have him on the second unit as a one time option for Perfetti. The second units big issue is not enough shooters for Perfetti to weoponize.

I think put Schmidt on the top unit to move it around.

Just finished watching the Nashville game -- great fun!

I'm impressed with both Morrissey and Perfetti, both really stood out in this game for me. Wheeler's five points night was fabulous to see, although it probably won't silence his critics. I also think that Hellebuyck deserves praise for turning in that kind of performance on the end of a back-to-back. KFC continues to shine but it's a major groan to get a two-on-none and not have our sniper take the shot.

Regardless of the ongoing debate over whether we will or won't make the playoffs (I'll keep my fingers and eyes crossed but realistically don't expect miracles), as long as we keep turning in efforts like last night's game I'm going to enjoy tuning in to watch my team.

Well, not tomorrow night, of course. Somebody has to keep the cliches and chocolate and lingerie industries sustained. But I will PVR the game.

PS: I live in a highrise and am therefore clueless, but the cost of snow clearing seems exorbitant.

I don't dislike Wheeler at all, it's his 9 million a season contract that's a little too high , for me anyway.

Sure but there is nothing anyone can do about it, we have to evaluate the player fairly on what he's doing on the ice rather than lamenting the contract which is already signed and nothing can be done about it. I feel like people let that get in the way of actually evaluating the game. Like he will have a perfectly normal game but you come to the PGT and there'll be 15 posts about how he's holding his line back, favoritism blah blah blah.

How do you evaluate a player fairly without reference to his contract though? I don't think looking at effort alone is reasonable. Whether a player is meeting expectations is fair, but usually expectations reflect the negotiated salary.

I agree that Wheeler is a bit of a special case given that management likely expected some age related drop off. However, I don't think it's unfair to expect a premium player for that much money. He signed the contract so he can take the heat if he's not living up to it.

I think 70 points per season is fair expectation for Wheeler considering all the factors. That assumes he's healthy though, which I don't he has been this season.

If he plays like last night often, $8.25M is fair. UFA deals are almost always too high.

I would describe the cost of a Super Bowl ticket as exorbitant. I would describe the cost of a snow clearing service in Winnipeg as money well spent.
