I saw the Eagles a couple of times (not this time) with the last being the 2008 Long road concert in Moncton NB. That was a great show and pretty much a free for all by fans (50,000).
That Moncton venue is a great one for a concern - I've also seen the Stones there (90,000) and U2 that was close to 70,000.
Eagles are a bit stiff at times and without Joe, they would be dull - but they are perfectionists and with that comes some stiffness on stage. I still consider that eagles concert as one of the best I have seen.
I'm with you on Don - the guys pretty full of himself.

One of my all time top concerts was the original Hotel California tour. I will always love the music. I was miffed Friday Saturday but I can’t stay mad at old people. Don’s clearly an ass hat but I love his music.

This song was playing last Saturday when I was waiting for the geese to clear the Southdale roundabout

Such a soft ballad from the band I remember best for their improves-on-the-original cover of Sympathy for the Devil. And such a story from you, that reminds me of when I used to work at the Launch Coworking Space on Chevrier Ave, and one day I was leaving work only to have to brake suddenly for a family of a dozen geese that were not only jaywalking, but were doing so with all the speed and urgency of molasses flowing uphill in winter. Like, at the end, there were two cars behind me and three in the other lane, all waiting for this to end, and I remember the driver in the front of the other lane caught my eye, and just shrugged. And I shrugged back, in what should really have been a Canadian Heritage Moment.

Anyways. This is an awesome ballad, one I'd NEVER have suspected GNR of doing, so thanks for sharing :)

How many of you all know of KEN Mode? Noise rock/metal from Winnipeg. It's like if Nirvana stayed with the Bleach style and expanded it with Boredoms, Swans, etc.

A trio of Tracy Chapman songs.

First up is a duet of "Baby Can I Hold You" with Luciano Pavarotti. Absolutely phenomenal.

2nd up is Tracy and Eric Clapton with "Give Me One Reason". This song has an irresistible groove.

Last up is Tracy doing a sparse cover of the Ben E. King hit, "Stand By Me" Again, absolutely phenomenal.

First, I'm gonna preface this by saying that "Brave New World" might be Styx's most underrated album, since it was the last time the band was together; this is just one of the many great tracks to be found, and honestly, the album plays great as an old-school pole-to-pole listening experience.

So: I started working with the Calgary Police's IT department late in January 1999; when this came out, 5 months later, I was living on top of the world. My whole world would get thrown in a f***ing blender a month later (lol fatherhood, thanks for the 8.9 months of headfakes, lol), but for a brief period, I was a mighty mighty man, a brand new 25, and on top of the world.

When I found out a month later that I was in fact going to be a father, and I had to recalibrate my thinking a whole damn lot, I found a lot of solace in three songs: Will Smith's "Just The Two of Us", BNL's "When You Dream", and this one, seemingly hand-crafted for my eldest child who will always be the best new face in the human race.

Guess I should add this one. Wasn't even out a year. Listened to it right after the first time I held 'em.

My life may have fallen into a garburator since then, but I'll always have this to remember :)
