Saw Tom Cochrane play on the weekend. Fabulous show. I c he plays a New Year’s Eve show in Winnipeg.

Didn’t Realize he had such a repertoire of Canadian classic rock hits. Big league is a great hockey song.

I was invited by a buddy to go to the “Eagles Inc” last minute. Kind of cool that this was the Hotel California tour and I was a kid when I saw this original Hotel California tour in the 70’s at the then new Northland Coliseum in Edmonton. In the best quote of the night Joe Walsh said it was better to be in my 20’s in the 70’s than in my 70’s in the 20’s.

Band was very good for old f***ers….Vince Gill is a perfect fill in for Glenn Frey. Really like that Frey’s son came out and sang some songs. The concert was way to tight assed for me though, Henley is still a pretty unlikeable talented douche bag but I am way too young for an Eagles concert now. No standing during the songs on the floor GTFO, no photos, You get to stand when Don says stand (FO Don)………a quick lecture from Henley on copywrite infringment to a dude with a camera that was probably dropping over $500 on tickets to sit in row 5. Tell you what Don you guys run a hell of a business but I remember when they use to allow smiling at concerts you fascist.

Also for you old f***s like me there is a massive difference between 65 (Vince Gill) and 75 the other wax museum dudes. Amazing catalogue of music and still talented but I am done with Don.

My girlfriend posted a 60 second vid of Hotel California on her Instagram account.

4 hours later she received a DM from Instagram that her post containing the vid was removed due to a "complaint from the content owner."

I had a great seat row 8 on the floor right in front of the band. This very fun young couple were in row 6 in front of us and the women was totally into it and every time she would get up to dance the Jack boot thugs would instruct her to sit. I pulled aside one of the ushers and said “hey buddy she is between me and the stage and I have no problem with it, just let her dance and have fun it’s a concert”…..dude politely told me the bands orders are nobody stands up on the floor (until Don says so with two songs left).

So anyways the poor women can’t help herself and she’s up and down trying to obey the no fun police but the music is pretty upbeat. Eventually this 70 year old man behind and to the side of the women puts his hands on her shoulder to kind of tell her/guide her to sit down and big boyfriend loses his shit on the old guy for physically handling her and threatens him. So things calm down just a bit and the women goes to get up again next song and boyfriend restrains her and they decide to leave the concert. Dude has t shirts poster and is a big fan but apparently they had to leave since they were in an area where the fun went to die. As they were leaving the guy gave the old f*** the finger and he was just kind of not making direct eye contact. About one song later Henley motions to the crowd on the floor to stand and I’m thinking what the f*** is this shit??

Loved the songs, took me back, good musicians, not my kind of concert though. Reminds me so much of getting shushed at jazz fest by people drinking tea at the old Shark Club.

Ya just so opposite of say Bruce Springsteen who is all about the party and the fans, no chairs on his floor everyone stand and dance and sing. Even has fans bring signs of songs they want him to play.

Not surprising at all. At least it didn’t come with a lecture from Don about US copywrite infringement laws in front of 13 thousand people.

The thing is the boss is a similar age too but he wants the party atmosphere. It’s rock music FFS. Don’t buy a ticket on the floor if fans standing, dancing, singing and having fun bothers you. The bands job is to get fans out of their seats not force them to sit down in my opinion at least.

Totally, if i was in a band i would want to see fans dancing and having fun not sitting like they are watching a movie. Tickets were expensive if i want to stand and dance and sing that's what I'm going to do.

It was so weird to see two high energy young 30 somthing Eagles fanatics with posters, T shirts, Merch, beers, singing, dancing, having such a good time, NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG, basically getting run off the floor, probably out of the building for having too much fun AT A CONCERT.

I told her to repost it without the Eagles hashtag and it's still up!

Awesome……..watch out for the stormtroppers kicking down your door tonight LOL

First up is Shawntae Harris-Dupart, better known as "Da Brat". Her debut album Funkdafied (1994) sold one million copies, making her the first female solo rap act to receive a platinum certification, and the second overall female rap act (solo or group) after Salt-N-Pepa.

You may recognize Jermaine Dupri as the drummer in this video.

In 1992, Da Brat's big break occurred when she won the grand prize in a local rap contest sponsored by Yo! MTV Raps. For the prize, she met the young rap duo Kris Kross. They introduced her to their producer, Jermaine Dupri, who signed her to his So So Def label.

Wow! Imagine getting to meet Kris Kross:rolleyes:

Dupri began his career in music as a dancer appearing with Herbie Hancock, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash and other artists. He began his own production company and one of his first bands was Kris Kross. He would go on to produce, write, and collaborate with many artists, as well as lead his own band. His contributions include, Destiny's Child, Usher, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, and Monica.

This is the original Jermaine Dupri hit from 2001 "Welcome To Atlanta" with Ludacris. There's a remix of this song with P Diddy and Snoop. Both are good.

This is his collaboration with Jay-Z

In 2018, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.[19] This made Dupri the second musician from the hip-hop genre to be inducted, with only Jay-Z being inducted prior.

Hell of a career.

And as a response to the above Eagles posts...

Not a fan of the Eagles, but we all have our likes and dislikes. Cool that you had a good time at the concert.

I can't believe the Eagles actually hired someone to monitor hashtags on social media to harass their fans!

I saw the Eagles a couple of times (not this time) with the last being the 2008 Long road concert in Moncton NB. That was a great show and pretty much a free for all by fans (50,000).
That Moncton venue is a great one for a concern - I've also seen the Stones there (90,000) and U2 that was close to 70,000.
Eagles are a bit stiff at times and without Joe, they would be dull - but they are perfectionists and with that comes some stiffness on stage. I still consider that eagles concert as one of the best I have seen.
I'm with you on Don - the guys pretty full of himself.
