Another sad day; I was a big fan of hers when I was a kid ...

Album #21
Def Leppard - High 'n' Dry (1981)
Remember when Def Leppard were good?
Haha.. I only came across this album later, much after Pyromania was released.
I remember though seeing the video for 'Bringing On the Heartbreak' on Citivision around the time that "Pyro" was out and I was super excited because it was a song I'd never heard before. Does anyone else remember Citivision Friday nights at midnight? My favourite song on the album though is 'Another Hit and Run'

While this song is often labeled as a "Bone - Thugs - N - Harmony" song, it is properly a "Mo Thugs" song. BTNH got their start when Eazy-E signed and helped them establish their career. Once they had success they started their own record company and "Mo Thugs" was a compilation of BTNH members and other unestablished Cleveland artists.

This is off of "Mo Thugs" 2nd album, "Chapter II: Family Reunion" and hit #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998.

I think this song is pretty unique as it combines hip-hop with a more Country/Western theme and storytelling, along with having the familiar Kenny Rogers refrain, "You gotta/better count your money" as its hook.

"Tony Toni Tone" had a hit with, "If I Had No Loot" in 1993. The hip-hop band featured a more guitar heavy driven rhythm in this song, which is described as, "New Jack Swing. It hit #7 on the 1993 Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Last up is a jazzy hip-hop song, "Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia)" from the British band US3. The song may remind you of "Rebirth of Slick" by "Digable Planets" (released in 1992). This is off of their debut album in 1993 and samples the Herbie Hancock song, "Cantaloupe Island". Umm, yeah, I have no idea either about that Herbie Hancock sample, but Wiki told me and it makes me sound way more learned about music than I am. I only learned about all these songs 3 weeks ago.

Album #23
Red Rider - Don't Fight It (1979)
Red Rider was one of the first rock bands I got into at the time Neruda came out. That was an amazing album. This album I bought, I think, in high school when I discovered their older songs. After Neruda, "Boy Inside the Man" was great. "Big League" was pretty good. Wasn't a big fan of "Life Is a Highway" though.

"White Hot"

"Avenue A"

Album #24
David Bowie - Heroes (1977)

I was pretty pumped when I found a used copy of this album. This is the second album of his Berlin Trilogy that he recorded with Brian Eno in the late '70's. It's the only one of the three that I own on vinyl. (Still searching for "Low" and "Lodger"). This album includes the brilliant "Heroes" track, one of my favourite songs by him.
Here is the longer album version.

Album #25
Harlequin - One False Move (1982)

The first vinyl record I ever bought and I still have it. I had previously heard the song "Innocence" before this and loved it. When "I Did It For Love" came out I rushed out and bought this album with my allowance money. Great Winnipeg band from the '80's.

Album #26
The Strokes - Room on Fire (2004)

Great album to own on vinyl. Went looking for their first album but when I got home I realized I had grabbed this one, their second by mistake. A good consolation prize. (I got their first album "Is This It?" at a later date).
Like a lot of newer vinyl though, the pressing I got appears somewhat warped. So annoying.

"Reptilia"

Album #27
Slade - Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply (1983/1984)

This album was originally released in Great Britain under the name of "The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome" with a different track listing. It was re-released in North America under the revised title. This was maybe the second or third album I ever bought. Everyone at school loved "Run Runaway" and I rushed out to get this one. This was Slade's comeback album in the '80's after they kind of disappeared in the late '70's.

"Run Runaway"

"My Oh My"
